We’ve received some concerns regarding a recent influx of content on the site that does not suit our game rules and setting. We want to remind everyone to read the Guidebook and make sure you’re familiar with and following the site’s policies, particularly where it concerns semi-realism.
Some recent trends include:
- Unrealistic depictions in artwork*, including references to clothing, hairstyles and jewelry.
- Unrealistic depictions in posts, including references to clothing, hairstyles and jewelry; as well as implements, such as furniture, that do not make sense in our setting.
- Backstories and designs borrowed too heavily from popular fiction.
*We previously allowed leeway as long as unrealistic images included a disclaimer. However, these types of artwork have become so prevalent, they’re being referenced canonically in many cases (an aforementioned policy violation), so images may no longer depict traits that do not suit our semi-realistic setting.
We will be enforcing these policies more strictly going forward. We are also working on clarifying and reorganizing the Guidebook to make it more comprehensible. If you have any feedback about this, please don’t hesitate to reach out via Contact the Staff.
