Kindle gave @Haedwig and Europia an hour's head start before seeking them out once more. Kinusi's orders weighed heavily on his mind, but in the end, he decided to follow them. He would have to see what came of them before he knew exactly how to act.
Approaching the place where the women had gone, Kindle called out a low, "Haedwig?" warning them both of his presence before he pressed forward to seek an audience.

After a brief conversation, Haedwig and Europia had both retreated to her den to allow the girl to rest. It wasn't far.
The sudden presence on Kindle wasn't a welcome one, made obvious from the low growl that sounded from the throat of the old woman as she slid out of her den. Europia was sleeping inside.
She knew that Kinusi was angry, and frankly she didn't care. Dawnspear had good prospects but her family came first, and if that meant the two of them leaving as soon as they were well enough so be it.

Kindle sighed, pushing away any annoyance he felt from the greeting. He turned his face away, giving Haedwig his profile while she emerged from the den. Somewhere in the distance, a late-season bull bugled in hormone-addled rage.
He sensed her presence. Saw her in the periphery of his distance gaze.
"It's the end of the elk rut," he commented. He would miss their haunting calls, he realized.

I know you aren't here to talk to me about elk.She didn't say it directly, but the message was clear; get to the point. Though an hour had passed, her mood hadn't improved.
Haedwig might have indulged the conversation a bit more on any other day. She used to like going out this time of year to find the bulls sparring, it was always an interesting sight. More than that, it was a good hunting opportunity.
Haedwig's days of hunting were behind her now.

His annoyance grew. He wondered what he would have needed to do in order to have avoided this ire. He wished that Haewig were easier to deal with, and that Kinusi's temper was not quite so sharp.
"Kini will want to speak with you. When everyone's settled their hackles."
He spoke without much inflection, wanting to be done with the conversation.
"If Europia wants to stay, she'll have to talk to Kinusi, too."

He wasn't easing her frustration in the least.
In terms of whether or not they would be staying, Haedwig's frown was heavy.
She was angry, and the way Haedwig saw it she had every right to be. She had been called to the healer's den, she was a healer. She was going to try and do her job. She hadn't shoved anyone out of the way, she hadn't been in the way of any work. Kinusi had overreacted by snapping at her right away. The old woman, for all her flaws, could be perfectly cooperative. She took her work seriously.
Besides that, she wasn't lying when she said that she knew Europia and her health best. She knew the nuances that came with the girl being a hybrid.
There wasn't much more conversation to be had. Haedwig returned to her den.
I don't need to hear that from you.If Kinusi had something to say, she could get off of her high horse and come to Haedwig herself.

Europia is sleeping. When she wakes up, that's her decision. I'm going with her if she leaves.

Kindle felt his own temper flare. He swallowed down his kneejerk reaction... But it came up again like a bad meal.
"If that's how you'll handle this, you can leave as soon as she's well enough," he told her, forcing himself to step away. "I don't like what happened — but we both know what way the wind will blow."
One of the two parties would need to conform. If they were both going to be children about this, it would come down to who had the stronger ties to the mountain.
If she had no response, he would be on his way.
