A lot had happened recently. Finley had returned worse for wear; Wildfire had discovered Ray's corpse in a cave; and Peregrine's relationship with Pan had hit the rocks. These things had begun to snowball too. Wildfire was only one step up from bedridden because of ignoring her sprained ankle during her aunt's rescue efforts and the Alpha feared his remaining brother would vanish in the wake of Ray's death. Peregrine had a feeling Pan would eventually come to agree with him and perhaps leave the caldera too. Things really weren't looking good lately.
But life went on and preparations must be made for winter. Peregrine kept busy on this foggy autumn morning by hunting down small prey to pad the caches, starting with the one near the Beta pair's den. He then went looking for Dean, only to come up empty-handed. Maybe he was off grieving somewhere or perhaps he had already absconded. Peregrine couldn't even blame him; he had just lost his lifelong companion, after all.
A bit weary from the day's efforts thus far, Peregrine walked halfway up the caldera, then chose an outcropping where he took a seat. He surveyed his domain. He caught sight of Raven off in the distance, bustling around with a mouthful of herbs, and knew she must be tending to Finley's wounds or possibly her sister's ankle. His lips twitched and he let her be, shifting his good eye upward slightly to peer off into the dreary distance.
Movement caught his eye and he stared hard at the thinning treetops of Haunted Wood. He thought he saw figures flitting in and out of view but it was difficult to tell from this distance. With nothing better to do, he began to pick his way down the caldera's southern face, then trotted toward the eerie forest. Perhaps Bazi and Swift still lingered here. He came to the edge of the forest and definitely smelled wolves, though it wasn't the panicked mother nor her wounded offspring. His brow furrowed and he began to move slowly into the trees, black hackles prickling.

:D
Ever since the band of wolves had arrived at the Haunted Wood, things for Leo went downhill. He hated it here as much as he did Blackfeather. So dark and evil. He wished they could have traveled to a much brighter place.
That wasn't all of his fears though. For the past few nights, the boy had a reoccurring nightmare. He would always be in Blackfeather, watching the wisps when the suddenly faded from a beautiful blue to a horrid red. They would turn upside down and appear to grow a face with a crooked grin. The evil things would come closer, whispering his name before he woke up. When he did, it felt like they were still calling his name.
Today wasn't any different. He had awoken from the same nightmare. The den was empty when he awoken, so that meant Lusa and Grimnir were out patrolling or something. He stood up and padded his way out the den.
It wasn't long until he saw a black figure in the distance. At first he thought it had been Lusa, but upon closer inspection, it turned out to be another. Another wolf with a scent that was neither lone or their pack.
"Hey!", he called, "Who are you?"

He saw more signs of wolves the further he went into the woods. Peregrine began to suspect that there might be a group of them passing through here. Surely they weren't attempting to lay a claim to the woods. It was much too close to the caldera. He and Fox would never tolerate another pack trying to set up camp at their doorstep. They wouldn't just heckle them, either. They would attack with intent to kill until the squatters packed up and left.
Feeling irate about this possibility, Peregrine growled sharply when a voice spoke. He turned his good eye toward a young wolf with buff fur and a smudged snout a bit like Wildfire's. He quieted, though he continued to leer. He took the cub's presence as a bad sign. It meant his parents were running around somewhere, maybe trying to stake a claim.
"I'm Peregrine, Alpha of the caldera," the black wolf said pointedly, motioning at the squat peak visible over the treetops behind him. "Who are you? And what are you doing here?" he demanded in the next breath, his hackles still bristling.

The male did not seem too happy with the boy's presence, he didn't quite know the reason though. Leo knew nothing about the Caldera, or the fact they were neighboring them. He didn't know there was any other pack to be exact.
He straightened up, not wanting to look like a coward, though he felt like running at the moment. "My name is Leo, but others call me Chevalier." He didn't wish to be called by his real name. Leo always reminded him of the happy times.
He became a small bit confused at the next question. "This is my home now. Our home now. My mother and father are the alphas here." Had this Peregrine not known before? Surely he did have some knowledge of the fact.

In different circumstances, he might have found the boy's introduction funny. How did one get "Leo" from "Chevalier"? But Peregrine was not in a humorous mood. In fact, his face darkened when the youngster confirmed his suspicions. The Alpha wolf met this information with a low, resonating growl and a lash of his long black tail.
"No," he replied, taking a threatening step forward, "it's not. I don't know who your parents are, kid, but you ought to let them know that the caldera wolves will stop at nothing to remove them from this woodland. It's too close to our territory," he warned. "There are plenty of other territories that don't infringe on our claim. Get the hell out of dodge or you'll find out what we do to those who disrespect our space."
The message wasn't intended for the whelp so much as his parents and pack. Leo seemed bewildered and rather innocent. Peregrine had no doubt he would take the warning and pass it onto his parents. The question was: would they listen and relocate, nabbing one of the dozens of other suitable territories? Or would they be stubborn morons who paid no heed to his warning?

Hope you guys don't mind me joining...
The pale female had been wandering through the territory looking for a decent spot to rest when she overheard the commotion the two wolves were making. Her head shot to Chev or Leo, whatever the hell the kid's name was and then to the stranger. She approached both, head low, ears flattened against her skull, and eyes narrowed on the dark male. As far as she was concerned he was a threat that needed to be taken care of, and she was prepared to rid the male of this territory under any circumstances. Her pace towards the others was slow at first, allowing her time to listen to any further words spoken by the two. Her tail raised to a dominant position and a growl rumbled within her chest.
She soon reached the pup and stranger, though her approach didn't stop until she was protectively standing next to Chev. Her eyes remained fixed on the older male before they flickered for a brief moment to the youngster, anger swelling up inside her. He should have come to get his mother or father, or even Hayde herself. The pale girl remember Lusa speaking of how one of her pups was already taken once and the pale girl didn't want that to happen again. "Leave" she demanded to Chev and was quick to put her focus back on the dark male. If things would eventually lead to a fight, the wolfess didn't want her nephew getting injured and hoped the youngster would obey her command.
When the bigger wolf took a step forward, Leo took a step back. He didn't want to get into any sort of fight with this guy. He would certainly be killed if it happened.
He looked up at the male, fear and confusion in his eyes. What would he do to them if they didn't leave. How close were they to the Caldera wolves? Well, it was enough to make Peregrine furious, that was for sure.
A sigh of relief escaped him as his aunt showed up. His posture rose when he felt more comfortable. With Hayde here, he felt the odds turned (not exactly). That was when Hayde ordered the whelp to leave. "But I-", he mumbled out before stopping himself. He knew that he must listen to an leader's orders, whether he liked it or not. He glanced up at Peregrine, then to Hayde before trotting away.

Pardon moi. 8]
A faint commotion echoed from the distance. Tall, inky ears swiveled with curiosity. Several voices lingered in the still silence and, despite himself, the Sawtooth proceeded towards the ruckus. What unfolded was genuine chaos, a charcoal-kissed male interacting with a tiny thing too weak to defend itself. As though the heavens heralded a savior, another broke into the fray. The youth was delivered a request to scram and off it went, bouncing into the overgrowth like some puppet. This brought the altercation now to two adults.
Fiery eyes swept first to the female and then to her adversary, the male. Too intrigued to keep trekking on, paws stopped and keen observation followed.

The commotion in the wood was enough to get the new alpha's attention. Her ears perked at the sound of arguing, and she immediately went to investigate.
As she walked, Chevalier sped past her, which made the black fur on her neck stand up. What had made her son run? She looked forward, spotting Hayde and another wolf facing eachother. From her prospective, she could catch the pelt of Grim, which made her hot with anger. It seemed like a chaotic mess from where she stood.
She stepped into the fray, a snarl on her face and ears flat on her skull. Blue optics burned into Peregrine's green ones with frustration. "Get out now," she hissed, "Both of you!", she added, referring to Grim. These two were not permitted to be on these lands any longer, unless they had a death wish.

In a matter of seconds, three full-grown wolves arrived, sending Leo packing. Peregrine felt decidedly disadvantaged, particularly because of his eye, but he stood his ground. Through body language and demeanor, he assumed that the latest arrival, a black she-wolf, was the leader and the other two were her subordinates. His attention shifted to her primarily.
He heeded neither her dominance display nor her threat. It surprised Peregrine a little when it seemed to be directed at the other black male as well as himself. He glanced at him, then redirected his gaze, his jade eyes boring into the she-wolf's as he replied, "I've lived here for a year, so what makes you think I'm going to listen to you, you newbie bitch?"
Boldly, he took a step toward her, lips wrinkling back from his yellowing teeth. "This is your only warning. You're not welcome here. If you insist on trying to lay a claim here, you and your members will be harassed at best and killed outright at worst. Choose any of the other hundreds of territories around here, as we won't tolerate you living in our fucking ass crack. Do you understand? We will never stop until you're gone."
She could and probably would spring an attack, Peregrine knew. If she invited her comrade to join in, they would likely successfully get him to back down and leave. However, if she ignored his warning, that definitely wouldn't be the end of it. As long as she tried to set up camp here, the caldera wolves would not rest. They would attack again and again until they eliminated these imbeciles; of this, Peregrine had no doubts.

Hayde's focused remained on the stranger while Leo scampered off, and only when her sister showed up and spoke did the pale girl notice the other male who lingered in the shadows. Her ears shot upward when the male before her began to speak and her body tensed when the word bitch was spat from the man's mouth. She would not allow some asshole to intrude on this land and speak to her sister, and alpha in such a way. It would not be tolerated.
She allowed the male to continue speaking only for the reason of possibly gaining any information from him, though the words he spoke were of little use to her. Once he finished his rambling the female allowed only a moment to pass before launching herself at Peregrine. It was instinct alone that caused Hayde to have such an outburst, the natural need to drive the male off her land was to great to ignore. Her jaws snapped at the male, not intending to seriously wound him but instead to simply send him on his way. This neighboring pack needed to know that they had no right to wander among these woods anymore, and Hayde was prepared to get that message to them by any means necessary.

It didn't surprise the spider in the least, somehow, that the black-coated female from before showed up as the apparent back up. Fiery eyes traced her moves, the words spit from mouth, and expression shifted into that of a cool, confident smirk. No doubt the wolf was angry and this pleased the troublesome Eta. The snap to pick himself up and leave prompted a faint smile. Her and what army? Whatever backup she had before that lurked in bushes? No. She may think her soldiers great but they were few and weak (as lone wolves).
The dark male, who had apparently sent the younger wolf packing in tears, spoke next. One tall, inky ear swiveled his direction, suddenly incredibly happy to have found such a treat. The chill vehemence in his warning was regarded in another smile. Two versus one, bitch. The emotion was clear on the Eta's face. The aspiring alpha was fighting a losing battle. She thought herself so mighty to perch on this other pack wolf's plot. A cunning maliciousness exuded from the spider's face.
The paler wolf, despite warning, launched into assault and the inky wolf stood in one fluid account. Shoulders thrust forward, wide paws bringing the inky wolf before the darker loner in clear threat. Try it, the actions hissed, black lips peeling back to expose a flicker of cutlery below in forewarning. It wasn't the Spire wolf's fight, but the cause was just enough to warrant action. The spider would not hesitate to punt the little rodents back a peg should they try Sawtooth's mountain territory next. While the dark alpha grappled with the white weakling, the spider addressed the female met prior. She should call her friend off and leave before more backup arrived.
Individuals of such little caliber were to be destroyed.

And backup did indeed arrive shortly. He had called for her to patrol with him some time ago and yet when she'd arrived, the spider was gone, his trail cold. Concerned that something had happened (as had to so many of their members before him), Nanuk had set about tracking him down (and dragging him back if she had to). She could not shoulder the weight of another Kanik, outright refused to infact.
So it was when she heard the snarls and snaps of teeth that she simply knew he was there. Without a single thought more, the bear-woman rushed in to the fray, lunging from the shadows with a terrible snarl to stand shoulder-to-shoulder with her comrade. Fur bristled menacingly, her head lowered and teeth bared in threat, her tongue flashing between her yellowed canines to show that she meant business when it came to protecting their own. She didn't need to know what this was about. He hadn't trespassed, so whatever it was, she would aid and defend him.
Vaguely, surprisingly, she recognized the scent of the dark woman they faced. She had follied before and neared the Spine's borders only to be met with violence then too, from herself and Tonravik. The struggle had been burned into her mind; one of her ankles would be an easy injury, as Nanuk had sought to crush it before. Now if she could only remember which one.

Well, I wasn't expecting this at all XD
She only chuffed at the older male's words. Like she gave two shits how long he been here. When her band arrived, these lands were free. Free for anyone. If Peregrine wanted to be butthurt about that fact, then he could have at it. "These are not your lands," She replied calmly, her furious expression diminishing.
Lusa wanted to say more until the chaos started. Hayde plunged at the alpha, while another wolf had come. She glared at the white wolf, remembering her and Tonravik attacking her long ago. Her teeth longed to cut through her flesh, but then i would be three against one.
Lusa did not move from her spot, teeth bared once again and eyes cold and irritated. "Hayde, ENOUGH.", she howled, her tone full of venom. The last thing they needed was a war. She jumped onto her sister, pulling her back from the scruff. It wasn't a painful tug, but enough to pull her off.
Lusa then turned her attention to Peregrine. "Get off my lands, you bastard. If I ever see another of your kind on this turf again, we'll eliminate you one by one." It was a warning. She never wanted to see these wolves again. This was their land now and they would fight for it.
She glanced our to the two Sawtooth wolves. "Get out," she hissed.

Perry uses some really gross epithets, oops.
The expected attack came, albeit from an unexpected direction. Peregrine whirled as the pale she-wolf lunged at him, her jaws snapping. He gave her his shoulder, her blunt teeth digging painfully into his flesh. Simultaneously, the other dark male moved nearer, baring his teeth at the black bitch. Before Peregrine could register this completely, another pale female bounded onto the scene, taking a post beside the spidery black wolf.
The swarthy Alpha straightened, an expression of confusion crossing his face as he eyed the double yin yang before him. He did not know any of them, yet it seemed half of them were on his team. He shot them a quizzical but grateful glance, then slowly turned to face the would-be Alpha of these woods. Despite the odds stacked against her, she thought it was a good idea to mouth off not only to him but all three of them.
"You stubborn whore," he replied, appalled but not particularly surprised by her arrogance. Was she too proud to relent and simply move to another territory, any other goddamn territory? "You've got that backward. You get away from my lands or my pack will wage war on you. I won't repeat myself a third time, you dumb cunt."
He wasn't usually one for verbal spars, so Peregrine fell silent then. Somewhat abruptly, he decided that words weren't enough for him. He punctuated the spoken threat by lunging at the blue-eyed female, ears thrust forward, teeth bared and tail stiff behind him. He would show her her place. If she wanted to play Alpha, she could do it literally anywhere else. But he would not tolerate her obdurateness on his very doorstep.

Teeth found their way to the shoulder of the alpha male, though before the pale female had a chance to do anymore damage she felt someone grab her scruff and pull her back making her land on her side. Scrambling back to her feet, Hayde was quick to snap at whoever pulled her away from her opponent though once she realized it was Lusa gave her sister a swift apology through a nudge to the shoulder. It was then she glanced over at the male who stayed some distance away for now only to see that a large female had joined him.
Now feeling quite intimated by the three wolves who seemed to be working together, Hayde didn't hesitate to call for those she knew were following her sister's leadership. While the neighboring alpha male spoke, the pale female lifted her head to call for @Grimnir and @Iris, making it quite difficult to hear the words that fell from the large alpha's mouth. Though it seemed words no longer mattered when the original intruder launched himself at Lusa.
Hayde desperately wanted to help her sister fight off the large male, but this was Lusa's fight and she needed to prove herself to this asshole. So while her dark sibling handled her attacker, Hayde turned to keep an eye on the pair of spire wolves. Her stomach felt as if it had twisted into knots. After all she was about to spar with two wolves who were increasingly larger than herself. With a flash of white teeth the pale girl stood her ground prepared to face off against the bear like wolves.

Instantly, her ears stood on end as a call rang out, not far away from where she had been staying. Now, she was traveling with Lusa and her family, their own pack. At times she felt like an outsider to their kinship, but family, as far as she knew, was didn't make a pack. It would be a little while before she could fully trust the dark female leading her, before the bonds of unity fully intertwined. Yet, she would do anything in the name of her Alpha, anything to protect those she promised her faith to.
Her feet immediately surged forward, her thoughts trailing behind. The call for her was urgent, and something uneasy twisted in her stomach. As far as she knew, they didn't have any enemies nor alliances either, but whatever was going on couldn't be good.
She skidded to a stop as the scene in front of her played out, her scenes on red alert. Two wolves from a neighboring pack were attacking her packmates, her Alpha. This wouldn't do. Who did they think they were?, her blood boiled. A feral snarl danced on her lips as her ears flattened against her skull in dangerous hostility. None, no matter the rank or size would hurt a hair on her pack, and she would see to it that they didn't escape without their share of pain.
Her eyes darted to Lusa's sister, Hayde as the females summoned her. It was only then did she notice the other Alpha, the green eyed Alpha. A look of worry passed in her own eyes, even though their numbers were higher, the fight was equal. But she would defend her pack, to the best of her ability regardless of the cost.
Her attention focused on the other pale female, who seemed to mirror her own emotions. Hate. In an instant, she turned to face the female, not hesitant to flash her ivory daggers in hazardous anger.

(This post was last modified: October 08, 2015, 07:52 PM by Grimnir.)
A strange howl for himself and Iris filled the silent Wood. Grimnir bolted forward on limber legs while wondering what the summon was for. He would have considered a pack meeting, but Lusa would have called for that. His second guess would have to be intruders. They had barely settled here and already there were wolves tromping on their territory? Grimnir scowled in annoyance. Their pack will need to establish themselves so that others will not cross them so easily. Though he could not say that he didn't see this happening. Hearing or smelling wolves in a territory that had not been claimed would bring any other wolf sniffing for information.
Snarls reached his delicate senses before the sight of fighting wolves came into view. A large wolf was attacking his mate while Hayde and Iris looked to be facing others. Why was no one helping his little killer? Grimnir was outraged. Bellowing out an infuriated snarl, he slammed into the male with green eyes, who was going after Lusa, with the full force of his run without pause. He hoped to take the male down and sink his teeth into any available place. He took little notice of the other strange wolves who were gathered there. If they joined in, he would rip into them as well.
Grimnir aimed to scold those of his and Lusa's pack for leaving her to a large male later. But he would focus his fury on this bastard who dared to harm his mate and set paw on their lands.
Snarls reached his delicate senses before the sight of fighting wolves came into view. A large wolf was attacking his mate while Hayde and Iris looked to be facing others. HEH..!
He smelled a party, and promptly put on his party hat...
...Just kidding.
Impulsive as ever, the blue-nosed wolf decided to make good on his promise to himself to wander south sometime and check on his companion. He would make it a quick trip, pausing only to rest so that he was not absent from the hollow for too long. Knowing the caldera wolves did not appreciate visitors at their door, he took a route that would bring him south of his companion's claim in a neighboring forest. From here, he may be able to catch Peregrine passing by, or at least holler out a hello and an invite to come chat. But what he found was not what he bargained for, and certainly nothing he could have even dreamed of.
The presence of wolves in the wood was not lost on him, but at the same time he caught his companion's scent he caught the not so distant sounds of conflict. Concerned and curious, he abandoned all his wonder about the strong presence of additional wolf scent, and hurried toward the racket. He arrived in time to see wolves attacking wolves, and as his heart beat in his chest, his mind scrambling for the best course of action, he did what came natural to him. He did a Luke thing.
"HEY HEY HEY!" he shouted, projecting his voice above the fray as best he could, with every ounce of power from his lungs, in hope that he could catch their attention. Despite the uncertainty and nervousness that he felt, he held himself as friendly, tail waving and expression open and smiling as he stood on the edge of the circle of conflict. "Party here or what!? Come on guys, what's going on, eh? Who wants to have a game of hide and go seek?" Maybe, just maybe, he would be heard, and is absurd presence would be enough of a distraction to stop further bloodshed.
Or perhaps he'd get his blue nose bitten off.
It was a gamble.

In case there was confusion, no, Grim/Aasivak is not attacking anything (yet)
The blue-eyed female, alpha of nothing was issuing orders, ones which prompted a grave narrow of ember-like eyes. "No," he enunciated so damn vehemently it came out nearly in two syllables. Lips pursed, whiskers thrusting forwards on muzzle in overt aggression. A lip curled dangerously, no hesitation or leniency in the expression. It was plain and simple. She could go fly her fucking kite, the spider wasn't moving one ounce. Nanuk, arriving for their scheduled meeting, no doubt, and not finding the Eta there arrived, a barrage of presence equally foreboding. If there weren't threatened by the inky wolf they should be downright terrified of the bear-like female.
Before much else could be said the ebony alpha erupted forth towards the blue-eyed idiot, her cohorts summoned soon after and a small mob of equally derisive idiots coming to her aid. Another step pulled the spider forward, meeting this new-found cowardice with a baring of teeth. The Sawtooth wouldn't strike first, this wasn't the inky Spire wolf's fight, but he'd finish these messes if they tried. No words were spoken, even as the sooty alpha was charged by some other numbskull.
A warning echoed throat, inky ears pushed so far atop head they nearly touched. Any more outnumbering of opponents to win without actual skill would be met in kind. As if to punctuate this fact, a hind leg lifted and, without much ado, the spider pissed all over their claim. Fuck off. Let them try and take it.
There was a lot happening and she didn't give a shit. Another wolf came and then another; Lusa ran her mouth and the other wolf attack. Yet another arrived, seemingly trying to calm things down. "Fuck off. This little bitch is at her bullshit, fuckin' around on others' doorsteps again. Obviously her stupid ass didn't learn the lesson we beat into her." Her mouth curled into a sneer, cold golden eyes staying locked at a point where she could see mostly if not all of them.
while it was not the Spire's beef, the pale creature was angered that she was pulling the same shit she'd tried with them. "Pack up all your pussy wolves and get the fuck out of here," She tumbled, her voice lowering into a snarl towards the end. Unless she had a bad memory, Lusa knew exactly what she was capable of. If she decided to tempt fate like that again, she'd have one more beast rushing her and her posse out of here, with the aid of Zombie man of course.
Eyes glanced sideways, mouth pulling into a full on smirk as she watched the Sawtooh spider piss on their claim, literally. She was starting to appreciate his presence more and more each day, especially with a stunt like that. And if they came at him? They'd be met with a furious rage that stemmed only when she was protecting her own. Lucky him.

She ignored Peregrine's meaningless insults. She had had enough of this. They could have spoke this out in a civilized manner, but instead the male wanted blood. It wasn't exactly what she hoped for, but a verbal spar was boring. Fighting was in her blood.
When Peregrine lunged at her, she was able to partially dodge him, moving out of the way so his teeth only tugged some fur from her side. She immediately went into battle mode. If it was a fight he wanted, then a fight he shall receive. She twisted her body 'round to her dark furred attacker, lunging forward with teeth bared. She aimed for the back of his neck.
All other sounds were now faded. She could not hear Luke, nor Nanuk. Her body cried for a victorious battle, something to show that this pack would not be some doormat. She was ready to fight for her rights.

His teeth grazed the black bitch's flank even as something impacted him from the other side. Peregrine whirled to snap at the agouti wolf, which left his neck and shoulder exposed when the she-wolf went for the sweet spot at the back of his neck. Her fangs dug deep, though the swarthy Alpha male tore free with a savage snarl, backpedaling and bumping roughly into the crowing Luke.
He wished he had time to acknowledge Luke and the mismatched pair of wolves helping defend his position. But with two wolves simultaneously ganging up on him, Peregrine could only afford to pay attention to the imminent threat. He deliberated between attempting to fight them both or simply stand his ground. He went with the latter at least for a moment, his head and tail arched severely and his jade eyes boring alternately into theirs.
If they insisted on attempting to linger here at this point, there were only two possible explanations: there was either a juicy, self-regenerating moose steak hidden somewhere in the forest or, more likely, these wolves were stupid as fuck.

Sorry if I skipped anyone, didn't think there was a posting order for so many people
Iris let out a low growl as a few more joined the fight, taking their own a opinions with them. One even tried to call peace, a foolish attempt to end what couldn't be stopped. Yet, she understood fully how the tables had turned, their numbers were almost equal now, and she wasn't entirely sure who was on who's side. Nevertheless, while she respected Lusa as her Alpha, she knew that her decision to fight was purely headstrong. The dark female had children to worry about, and facing off against all these wolves was uncertain to their fate. She had to stop this, a bit of land wasn't worth the risk.
"Lusa, stop this," She let out, not wanting to sound weak but knowing where she stood. Instantaneously, she let out a growl in her own frustration. "This isn't wise, it's dangerous. Think about your children," She pleaded through her teeth, but never lifting her growing snarl from her lips. She didn't want to put up an appearance of cowardice but who cared what anyone thought of them if they were dead? She set aside her emotions and thought logically, she always did. She wasn't about to let her pack walk stupidly into a situation that would make them enemies, of two packs. They weren't ready for this, no matter what anyone else thought.

Hayde was after Peregrine. We skipped her. From what I can tell post order is Peregrine, Hayde, Iris, Grimnir, Luke, Aasivak, Nanuk, and Lusa
Grimnir managed to take the green eyed wolf's attention from Lusa which gave her the opportunity to snag a grip on the male's neck. Teeth grazed his own shoulder, but as he reached out to take a bite of the black wolf, it stumbled back into a smaller wolf. Outraged at the black male's brief escape, Grimnir lunged for him again. Somewhere in the back of his mind he sensed the other wolves standing around them, but their words were lost on deaf ears. His focus was to kill, injure, or send the green eyed male packing for attacking his mate on his land. So long as no one else interfered Grimnir had no interest in them. Although, he contemplated on ripping into the smaller wolf that the green eyed one stumbled into. But was the small wolf a threat? Or did he just happen to be in the way? Grimnir tossed aside the idea of attacking him for now. If the white male decided to get in the way, then he would be free game.
