approx 6 - 7 hours after previous thread @ stavanger bay (so around 8am), open to anyone.
Weary and sleepless, she found her way further, and knew to turn back when the curve of her fin felt the sensation of the wind — it was not pleasant — and she lifted from the sea only to squint against the sunlight. She had been on patrol through the night and found nothing substantial to keep her entertained save for a few curiosities, and while they were alluring to her, the creature had not deemed them worthy to be a sacrifice to her beloved mother sea.
The water around her was warmer. It unsettled her the way the wind did, and made her wish for the big dark below — and she sighed through her teeth, letting the foam form across a cheshire grin, and spied the shore with vague disinterest. Then, she dove, sliding gracefully deep again, and resurfaced a few body-lengths back along the way she had come. She would return to the others and consult with them, confide her worries of this new place, but as carefully crafted as she could.

Sandy whisps of golden white swirled like ribbons around the paws of the inky black figure, rifting and engulfing her prints as she trotted across the bay. Many days had gone by since her departure from her homeland and she was tired, weary and fed up of journeying. At least the beach reminded her of home. The memories of her natal pack were fond; hard to forget and move on from, yet the pull of the wild had drawn her from her kin to seek new soil elsewhere.
"Sisko." Her voice rang out loud and clear as the legionary approached the shore, her dark limbs fondling the white-tipped waves. "Sinä matkustaa kanssani?" she added in her native tongue, her aurum gaze scanning the sands. "The Sea Mother has accompanied us," she spoke, the foreign words catching lightly on her teeth as she bent down to brush her muzzle in the surf.
With a raised head, she tore her gaze away from the horizon, tilting her cranium to the side in a questioning movement. "Missä sinä olet?" A note of panic was beginning to seep into her tone, veiled with dragged tiredness as the dark legionary turned her back on the ocean, her pools pleading that the whispy figure of her kin would emerge from the sands.

Perhaps it would be better for them to leave. To head back up to the land of cold waters, where life had been simple and easy. It meant going against the old ones of course, and that was a dangerous thought, seditious and of great insult to those wise minds. It had been their decision to follow the southern currents and chase the opportunity of a new life — as it was the will of the Mother — but at this point, weary as she was of travel and the newness of it all, the creature could only think to pray to ch'eni for guidance, lest she fall away from tradition.
She squealed her discomfort in to the depths, whistled away her worries and doubts, with the hope that her sweet voice did not carry back to eager ears; the old ones had many devotees and none would take kindly to the creature's uprising. Granddaughter knew she would have to wait and see how this would pan out for them, if the Mother Sea truly had called them here for any grand purpose, and until then she would need entertainment — food too, which had been difficult to square away — and thus she turned her attention to the distant sands, and with an undulation of her tail, slid closer through the dark.
The tip of her fin crested the surface, and then as she slid deep, her tail lifted and slapped down upon the water with a pop — above her there circled three ravens and a gull, curious of her antics, and hungry too. She did not think to look upon the bank to see the shadow there, as the thoughts in her head were varied and plentiful, but as she found her way in to the depths and her dark body vanished from view, she thought: perhaps I shall goad a sky-thing down from heaven. She had seen it done before, yet not for many years.
Perhaps the whispy soul that had accompanied her was hiding, observing her shadowy form from a distance; the legionary refused to believe that she simply ceased to exist upon the sands. With a quiet chuff, she forced her paws to carry her away from the crested blue and over towards the towering cliffs, her golden gaze alight with fear. Though it was an irrational horror, for warriors like her were strong enough to defend against such tricks of the mind, it was a nagging worry for her companion; her family.
Though her sister was not a true form, a mere illusion of sorts, the inky soldier could sense her presence amongst the unfurling fronds of the winds that swept along the shore. Now, however, her spirit seemed to be missing from the breeze, leaving her to walk the surf alone. "Sisko!" She cried, her voice shrill against th per gentle lap of waves. Anxiety pounded in her chest and she twisted her figure round to face the sea once more, golden pools round. It was at that moment when she sighted the fin; a sleek knife-edge against the cool blue currents; the Sea Mother's shadow, hunter of the deep. Thoughts of her sister subsided as the trotted to stand in the shallows, her pelt ruffling in the dead wind as she watched the Hunter fluke and disappear beneath the surface. "Sea äiti on siunannut meitä; the Sea Mother has blessed us," she breathed, mesmerised as the search for her kin was dismissed for the time being.

promptly butchers hulquminum and invents orca language. imagine it sounds very high-pitched and the vowels are more drawn out and whistle-like. i tried to indicate that with extra letters.
Her hearing was keen, as it must be to listen for the words of the wise ones in the siilence of the dark, or the call of those that hunt above the din of the waves. Yet she was quite a ways beneath the surface now, so the creature was oblivious to all that transpired upon the land — and likely would not have cared much for the wolf had she been watching, regardless.
The creature lingered in the dark and waited, idly watching the light as it shifted irregularly down through the many layers of the water, and waited for a foolish sky-thing to tire of its flight. When she thought she saw something, a trembling, a flicker between the light and the sea, she rose up with great speed and came erupting out of the ocean with the intent of swallowing a bird whole. The gull had landed, bobbed innocuously for a moment or two, but as soon as her dark silhouette arrived beneath it, the sky-thing lept for safety.
Granddaughter came crashing back to her beloved sea, and the gull shrieked, heading for the shore and the safety of the great rocks just beyond the lonely wolf. The sea sprayed, foamed, and writhed, and she loosed a scream that only her kind could fathom. It was then, as the creature began to circle back and away from the land, that she spied the wolf. Perhaps her efforts had been in vain this time — but a mere change in tactics could tilt things in her favor. For the glory of the Mother Sea, of course.
The creature drifted back in to the dark, but did not roam far from the coast this time — she did not know if this dark figure would understand her, as a great intelligence would not expect a rock to speak, but she whispered through the ebb and flow of the tide in her great but soothing voice,
Skae-shoon kwisoon'em, tla'thuyu. There was little chance this wolf would know her tongue, for it was the language of the Mother Sea, or one of many; and while the people of the sea generally kept clear of land-dwellers, Granddaughter often tempted fate, for she served ch'eni just as eagerly as others did the mother.
She was quiet, a shadow against the golden bay as the currents ribboned there way around her paws, creating miniature riptides in the shallows. Her attention was no longer averted to the cliffs, distracted and pleading for one of the supernatural to make their presence visible. Instead her golden eyes danced upon the crested waves in the place where the Angel had vanished beneath the surface, entranced in the presence of such a gentle blessing. This time her rumbling chuff was directed towards the Sea Mother herself, willing for the creature of the deep to surface and allow her own eyes to look upon the thing of wonder once more.
Sea birds wheeled above, presumable drawn by the whale at the possible prospect of a free meal and the inky soldier sat still, her posture tense as her focus was drawn to a certain gull that had made its resting point the skin of the ocean herself. Their presence there brought a faint hope that the Hunter still resided beneath her sights and, after a brief moment of utter silence, her desire was granted.
In an explosion of white surf and glittering droplets, the creature broke the surface, it's magnificent head aimed for the bird as it took off for the safety of the rocks behind her. The angels cry was a thing of gutteral beauty as its dark hide was swallowed up by the shadowed water. The soldier watched and waited, her charcoal banner held still as her aurum orbs scanned the sea for the shaded figure of the Hunter, ears pricking as a series of eery whistles and clicks echoed faintly through the cove, almost gentle in spite of the creatures size. Janai knew no danger connected to this blessing and replied in her own tongue, enchantment keeping her paws rooted the sand bank. "Mitä sinä puhut?" she called, her voice ragged compared to the sylph-like wake of the other. "What do you speak of?"
