Eyes are opening! Anyone that would be allowed within the den can pop by.
A kick to the side had roused the growing boy from his formally peaceful slumber, the culprit unknown and his time having not been used to solve the mystery. The fact that he was now awake had been accepted, more so because a need to eat had hit him than anything else. Whilst seeking out a teat to clamp onto, however, something had happened. One moment, there was nothing more than darkness that surrounded him, an endless abyss filled only occasionally with flickers of light or colour when he dreamt. Oddly enough, there had been a change that he couldn’t quite explain. The lids that covered his eyes had unsealed at last, popping open for the very first time.
There was nothing to see, really, which was a tidbit of information that he remained blissfully unaware of. For no longer was there only shadows surrounding him, the moon having cast into the den a stream of light. It illuminated very little within the space, but there were no complaints to be given, for he’d not the knowledge that there was even more to view. Turning his head, he’d managed to catch a glimpse of two small bodies, undoubtedly the very same beings that he’d had to compete against since birth. He could actually see them! ...well, sort of, that is. They were nothing more than blurry masses at this point, but, having nothing to compare his own sight to, he’d decided that that was simply how they looked. It was then that he’d released a squeal of excitement, overwhelmed by his new gift of sight.

Despite his brother’s development, Kavos was still as blind as a bat. Over all his existence had been less than pleasant and most of it involved crawling around and hoping that he would reach his mother’s breast without colliding with one of his siblings. As Eros received his very special gift, Kavos lingered in the darkness as he fed. The gentle rhythm of his suckling lulled him, almost guiding him to the welcoming arms of slumber.
Despite this feeling, Kavos had other plans. He would waddle away and then sleep, not fall asleep at his mother's side. Turning from his meal, with milk still on his chin, the boy began to waddle in his brother’s direction, fate intending them to have a head-on collision if Eros didn’t move out of the way.

Whilst his eyes had opened, his sight was far from perfect. Everything was, primarily, made up of blobs and blurs. Some things appeared clearer the closer he was to them, but that wasn’t always the case. He’d had a gift bestowed upon him, but it was not without its problems. He could see enough, though, to have spotted something moving towards him. Eros could tell that it was getting closer by the fact that it was one of the rare things that got clearer—not entirely, of course, but enough so that it was a little less blob-like.
Wide eyes watched the approaching phantom, only to realize that it wasn’t stopping. By the time he’d noticed that Kavos wasn’t going to stop or change his course, it was already too late. He’d not been able to wriggle away quick enough, and was soon feeling a wave of hurt. It’d started at his forehead, but had seemed to then spread out, resulting in the boy having cried out.

Thump! Both brother’s collided unwillingly head-on. It was as they made contact Kavos felt his first sting of pain and in response Kavos let out a sharp yelp. A sensation of anger and confusion filled his being as the pain radiated from the front of his head and quickly he backed himself away from the area that had caused him so much pain.
Big, crocodile tears began to form in the corners of his eyes as he reserved his charge and as this happened, an odd feeling came upon his eyelids. Hastily, as his anger surged, Kavos took a paw to his eyelids as he attempted to rid himself of this weird sensation.

A stinging pain lingered on his forehead, and then seemingly proceeded to run down into his eyes. Though the burning of his eyes was caused by tears and not the collision, he’d quickly lumped the two together. The blame, of course, was all put onto the paler mass. He should have either stopped or gone in a different direction from the very beginning, rather than ramming into the eldest boy’s head! As tears started to slip out of his eyes, a disgruntled gurgling sound arose from the back of his throat. He was not happy about what had happened, and would definitely never, ever forgive his brother!
That had been the plan, anyways, but he’d quickly forgotten what troubled him as the pain started to ebb. The process was pushed along when the movements of the other were taken notice to, for curiosity overruled his earlier distress. Over to his brother had the masked wolf started to crawl, wanting to find out what it was that the blob was doing.

Weirdness ensued as the magnitude of the collision grew. With his eyes feeling the way he did and the pain that throbbed the top of his skull Kavos was not in the mood for anything else to go wrong. Frustration developed from the series of unfortunate events and soon the baby garbled angrily.
As a certain amount of stress overcame the child, and tears dribbled from his eyelids, something happened that would change his life forever.
It was in the midst of a grunt that his eyelids opened. As light hit his milky eyes for the first time, the child halted his tantrum in favor of the mixture of awe and confusion that overcame him. Everything was blurry and unfamiliar to the child and despite starting into the face of the unknown Kavos felt oddly at ease.
Before him with a blob and he was curious about what this thing was. With his rage tossed aside for this new, shiny gift, Kavos wriggled towards Eros who hopes of tasting his brother’s nose.

Never would Eros know that he’d been there to witness the moment his brother was able to see for the very first time. The memory would easily be lost within his still-developing mind, especially since he could hardly see what was happening, let alone comprehend it. All he knew was that the blob had rammed into him, appeared to have been distressed by his own actions, and then settled down. Curious, the firstborn inched closed, contributing to the lessening of distance between himself and his sibling. He wanted to know what was happening—why it was happening—and so that was why he moved. The reason for the other child’s movements was lost on him, though, which was perfectly fine because he didn't really care.
The space was lost quicker than he’d have ever thought possible, but the end result was less than desirable. Around his nose had Kavos’ put his mouth, which felt weird; not the good weird, either, but the type that made him yank his head back to the best of his abilities. Eros would wriggle and squirm until his freedom was taken back, but he’d not retreat. Instead, should the imp be able to pull his nose away from his brother, he’d launch his own attack immediately afterwards. Only, rather than aiming for the nose alone, he intended to wrap his tiny jaws around as much of the ghost’s face as his mouth would allow.

Kavos had latched on to his brother with very little effort and was shaken off just as easily. As he recovered from this, the other blob lurched forward in an attempt to claim Kavos’ face. Displeased by the motion, the ghost’s tiny face wrinkled darkly and a wave of humidity washed over his features.
Displeasure in Eros’ actions was an understatement and as he was held he thrashed in an attempt to rid himself of the unfortunate conditions that had overcome him.

Just like his brother, Eros had found success in his attempt at latching onto the other’s face. A triumphant feeling surged all throughout his very being, but it’d been short-lived. The duo seemed to inadvertently take notes from one another, as Kavos began to thrash around in his quest to be released. Their roles proved to have been fully reversed, and so history repeated itself as the firstborn had his brother pulled out of his mouth. There was a gurgling sound that followed, but another attempt at grabbing hold of the other child had yet to be made.
Eros stared ahead at Kavos the best he could, waiting for something to happen. Would he be rammed into again? Gummed? At the thought of being forced into putting up with his antics, the wraith huffed.

Thankfully, his wriggling had been a success. A crisp wind swept his damp fur as he was released and he blinked rapidly until he recovered from the blow. Once he was done blinking and felt (mostly) dry, Kavos’ short attention span kicked in. Instead of charging forward in way of a counter attack, the boy found himself distracted by the sight of his brother. His eyes lingered on the blurry blob that was Eros and he remained in place as he watched on curiously.

Eros had, to the best of his abilities, braced himself against whatever was to come—which was nothing at all. Instead of charging forward, the other boy had stayed in placed and watched him, just as the masked whelp was doing. It was almost like a staring contest, but not quite, given their limited vision. It hadn’t lasted for very long, either, as the eldest of the trio grew bored. No longer interested in the other mass, or curious about what he might do, the boy had turned himself about and began crawling in the opposite direction. Should he not be stopped, he’d continue forward and explore the den until he tired.

Kavos watched on without protest as his sibling wriggled away, obviously bored with the descend of their activities. Finding himself growing bored by watching, Kavos turned away from his sibling and began wriggling in the opposite direction in hopes of finding something more interesting.
