All Welcome
@Gannet! Lagan and Gannet's exploration extraordinaire takes place a few days after Finley's new litter are born, I just couldn't wait anymore! :D

With the new babies safe back at home and everything looking fine, Lagan and Gannet had set out on their long awaited adventure. Lagan was a bit bitter about not having Lady there to come with, but he would get by. Besides, Gannet was his og travel buddy and that was enough for him, and Lady could always come another time. After a long day of traveling the two found themselves in a shimmering glen, the night sky seemed filled with extra stars, but Lagan knew better. Those stars were fire flies, or fi fies as he and Liffey had once called them.

Lagan sat himself down on a long winding root, and looked up at the beautiful glowing bugs. It amazed him, how they could light up and be so shiny, almost more exciting than the stars! His mouth agape in awe, for he had never seen such an amalgamation of the lightning bugs before. Gannet I'm so glad we decided to do this, thanks for coming with me dude. He said, glancing sideways at his cousin for a moment.

@Finley and @Elwood, just tagging to let you guys know what's up :)

!!!!!!

Gannet was enjoying being back with the family immensely, and took a lot of joy in being surrounded by so many familiar faces and sights. But he was also thrilled to once more be out hitting the road, especially since Lagan had come with. His cousin was great company.

He hadn't thought much wrong with them leaving once the new pups were born, sure the rest of their sizeable pack would be fine without them. And besides - babies their age were hardly interesting yet. They could barely even move, let alone do anything worthwhile.

Gannet stopped and stared as well at the beauty around them when they finally called a pause for the day, the fireflies twinkling about them almost hypnotic. He beamed at Lagan's comment, tail waving his own gratitude, and then got a mischevious look in his eye. Following a couple of the bugs, he jumped, attempting to catch them with a click of his teeth. He missed, but skipped a few more steps, already looking for his next target.

*invades* please tell me if I'm unwelcome

The land outside their little haven was vibrant. It was not one dark monotonous shade of darkness, shades of black and gray and white and purple and blue that bored him. He did not feel at home there, not with his pelt of flame and light. He knew he was destined for something more than being some spider god's plaything, and he escaped this fate by physically escaping, not fleeing back as his sister has, as Vaati so commonly did.

But the habits of the Woods takes over him, and he slips out of the cover of darkness, the deafening silence of the Woods breaking way to the screeching sounds of Wild — the crickets and night birds and bats and bugs.

He walks, aimlessly, determined to find something of note in the cloak of night. It comes to him in the forms of dancing wisps of light, waltzing, tangoing, foxtrotting ahead of him, congregating in a Glen before him. He follows, intrigued, into the neck of woods, but he isn't alone. His eyes light up at the sight of two boys in the distance, snapping and laughing. He sits, amazed at the sheer joy they have at the simple amusement.

u are welcome! Feel free to invade! Lagan doesn't notice Ganon yet though :)

Gannet gave Lagan a huge smile to which Lagan smiled back. Lagan turned his head to continue watching the glowing buggies, but a click caught his attention. When he looked back at his cousin, he found that Gannet was trying to catch the fireflies. Lagan loved playing games, being rambunctious, this sort of thing- but he would not kill a firefly! When he and Liffey were pups, Liffey had tried to convince him that it was more fun if you caught one and smeared it on your paw. She said you would glow. Lagan found that sad, because if they were all smeared on his paws, who would imitate the stars and make him smile in awe?

Wait Gannet don't catch them! They're pretty! If you wait and stand perfectly still for a while, they might land on you too. The Blackthorn apprehended, nudging his cousin's shoulder. To demonstrate, Lagan plopped himself down on the ground an closed his eyes, perfectly still. Then he waited. Nothing was really gonna happen, it was very rare that a firefly would actually land on him, but he could dream.

By the time Lagan asked him to stop, Gannet had already caught one or two with well-timed (or lucky) snaps, and the bugs were gone.  They didn't taste like much, and most of the fun was simply in the challenge of catching them.  Reminded him of the time with the locusts again, him and dad and Whip and Ferret.

Lagan didn't seem down with the game, though, and instead asked Gannet to wait.  Not one to want to ignore the request of a friend, Gannet did so, but he was a bit too twitchy to be calm standing still.

After a few moments, he shifted, turning to look about the clearing at all the twinkling lights.  He wasn't sure why Lagan was against playing, but his cousin sometimes had odd notions, so Gannet didn't mind stopping too.  And he minded even less when he happened to notice the other wolf nearby.

"Hey!" he called out, then stopped, watching Ganondorf studyingly.  Would he come? stay? or try to hide?

He never played such imaginative games before. The gloom of the Woods seemingly seeped into them. They wrestled when they played, with sharp teeth and claws. Their stories were of death and darkness rather than sing-song br. But in the end they were all told lies of the world weren't they? Either eternally good, eternally blessing beings or eternally evil, eternally malicious. Such inane games as these boys played were beyond him, but he couldn't help but watch as they say in the effort of getting the fireflies to land on them. He muffled a giggle at the sight, but not well enough. He was spotted.

He didn't look disgusted with himself, or annoyed. He simply chuckled and said: Hey yourself, a lazy smile crossing his face.

Gannet stopped catching the fireflies, and Lagan was glad. He cracked one eye to watch his cousin, who was trying to stand still but was failing. He was too jittery and honestly so was Lagan. If this wasn't a super awesome exploration, and instead Lagan was just sitting at home with nothing better to do, he could easily stay perfectly still and become engrossed in the hope that a firefly might land on him. However that was not the case. He got up and trotted over to Gannet's side, just as Gannet called out, Hey.

Lagan turned his head to look at what Gannet was looking at, and saw a shadowed figure of a wolf, with glowing yellow eyes. The wolf responded with a light chuckle, and that eased of Lagan's initial nervousness a bit. His tail beginning to wag slightly, and his head ducking a bit, he moved towards the other wolf. Closer now, he saw that the other was a pup, not super young but definitely not as old as Lagan. Lagan straightened his posture and spoke. Hi, I'm Lagan. Who are you?
