anyone in Stormrift?
After winter hit quite early, Norsamu set away from Teekon Wilds and started to head toward more inland, in the hope to find some treasure, rumors by the wind, and warmth of course. However she found herself getting bored as she continued her path away from the wilds, and met no one, nor' heard of anything. The scenary was new as she travelled, but nothing worthy to call a beauty. Truely a shame, as she spend quite a while on her paws before heading toward another direction. That too, was the same result.
Her mind couldn't help but wander back toward the area that seemed infested with wolves. She thought of the Ironsea Pirates, whome disbanded, but let her way to the rum recipe, courtesy of Zigzag. Then a few loners, but then she remembered @Velen, whome was also a pack wolf. Though the only information that was talked upon, was the name, Stormrift. Norsamu didn't know what they were about, or even located, just that they were near the coast. He was an interesting lad too, that she instantly took a liking too. Fun fellow.
She had plans, somewhat, to join those pirates of the Ironsea. She found herself missing the chatter of companions, and enjoying a party to dusk, to dawn, and let their laughter fill the lands. Her family, the Rosen Rogues, had long since passed away by her own paws, and while it was fun to be in her own pace on finding treasures, she still desired for that companionship. Though the plans had faded, and so did the motivation to join a group. What she really cared of was the amount of freedom they were given. She didn't want to be stuck on only the coast, but wander a bit. The group seemed okay with that, so she was more then happy to join them.
She remembered Zigzag mentioned it was nice to always have a home to return to... The behemoth pirate never had that issue, for her home was always with her. Now, however, it simply didn't exist. She couldn't help but admit a longing for one once again. It took a lot of guts to toss her pride away to admit that, but the silent songs of the forests held a gloom, and so did the empty beaches.
So Norsamu set back toward Teekon Wilds. It was winter, and cold as shit to the point she muttered, "well shit," and laughed as she set her paws on the sandy beach. The question is, should her interest lie in Stormrift, or somewhere else..? She knew little to nothing about them, but hey, that's how most of her treasure-seeking rumors begin. Aint' nothing but a rumor till' she proves it to be true. So the large maned wolf attempted to locate them, she could smell the makings of a border somewhere around here.

Ford had learned very little of the pack that his younger brother had established in the bay – the wolves of Ironsea. Had he known more of it, he would have thought the idea a foolish one. While it seemed fun to run wild and free and take whatever was desired, there was little to no growth in such actions. The very premise of piracy was one of contentedness and complacency; perhaps, the idea that great wealth and good fortune were all that was needed to lead a happy life. Those were all shallow thoughts to the titan. He knew what it meant to bask in the glory of good things, but he also knew that those were only fleeting moments of happiness. None of that would last if they remained the same.
The warhound took to the edges of his terrain in hopes that he might mark them more clearly. The others had done well enough of showing their intended claim over the land; Ford had been pleased with their dedication to the bay. The more that they added to their numbers, the better off they were. It would not have been long before he would send a call to them to announce that they had accomplished what they had arrived there to do.
The scent of a stranger caught his attention, and the skeletal brute changed his direction slightly to intercept the foreigner before they wandered any further toward their land. Upon sighting the figure in the distance, he furrowed his brow thoughtfully and paused in his approach. It seemed as though they had paused on the edges of the beach and were waiting for something or someone to draw nearer. The figure was not one that was familiar to him at all, but the warhound did not allow that to prevent him from prowling closer.
“Greetings,” the brute offered in a smoky baritone of a voice. He drew his crown upward and approached on swift limbs – limbs that knew how to move within the sand.

She offered a grin to the fellow giant, "Ahoy!" It was one whom she was not familiar with, but Norsamu remembered the scent of Velen, and he had a familiar one hanging in the air. He was large and muscular, as well had a look of a sour fellow she thought, but discarded it to fill the void with her own charisma with the attempt of a friendly tone. She assumed with the familiarity of smell they were from the pack of wolves she was searching for, and desire to inquire, "ya from Stormrift?"
She of course took no time to ask about it, not wanting to prolong the questions she desires of him. While chatter was pretty nice, the brute before her seemed one who would rather know why she tresspassed then to have a friendly talk. She doesn't mind, of course, it can always come later. If Norsamu stuck around she would be delighted to banter with such a titan.

The greeting was one that was entirely unfamiliar to him, but he provided the stranger with a ghostly curling of his dark lips that did not reach the mismatched glimmer of his gaze. He pulled his head upward and regarded her carefully down the length of his muzzle. There was something about her that reminded him of Rannveig first, and so he assumed that she knew about them from his slate-colored brother. Regardless of who had given her the name of their group, she had discovered it, and it seemed she had arrived on their doorstep with inquiries. It was good that he had found her, he supposed. Best for them to get the more direct return of information that could be provided.
“I am. My name is Ford, and I intend to lead Stormrift once we have gathered enough members,” the warhound responded in a tone that was gruff but not unkind. A slight quirking of his brow and a tilt of his head was the expression that met her. The hollow light of his mismatched gaze was latched to her features with no emotion but an underlying breath of confidence. “Are you seeking a home?”

She continued on with the grin, as the other gazed at her with an unknown expression. She wasn't sure what he attempted to do, but only met his double gaze with her own sunset eyes. She didn't seem to match his height despite being a giant herself, and almost seemed displeased by this factor, but an interest glinted in her eyes. He would seem like a good spar, she thought with a widened, toothy grin. She expressed her own confidence with her head held high and prominant chest, not daring to slink downward in intimidation. Though her confidence and pride always came with sillyness, as pirate cackled her name out, "Name's Norsamu, nice to meet'cha."
"Aye," she agreed after introducing herself, "I am." With a nod, the maned wolf continue, "Heard about ya sea-dwellers from Velen."

The woman's name was unfamiliar to him. He was certain that if Rannveig had happened upon her, he would have returned with a cocksure grin and wouldn't have been able to shut up about it for a month. Ford retained the name in the back of his mind and dipped his muzzle to her just slightly in response to the introduction. The more interesting portion of their chat came when she mentioned that she was indeed searching for a place to settle her claws to the earth. It was good to hear that someone had made mention of their intended claim and that she had returned because of it. The more that he imagined that conversation happening, the less he believed that his slate-colored brother was capable.
That was until she mentioned Velen. A thoughtful smirk creased his dark lips and he breathed outward in recognition of his other brother. “My brother,” he remarked with a small nod and a chuckle that rumbled from the back of his throat like thunder. “What is it that you seek in a pack, Norsamu?” the warhound then inquired of her. He canted his skull just slightly to the right and peered at her with an intent stare.

"Brother, aye?" Her eyes slowly crossed around his pelt, it became obvious in her expression she didn't believe the simlarities, "ya act whole lotta different." Norsamu bluntly commented with a chuckle. One was quite easy-going and much fun to talk to, though the titan before her was a bit different. He came off cold, she couldn't yet say 'unfriendly,' but hard enough where he was without a laugh for a while until she had mentioned a family member. Only then, did he look a bit friendlier, and more like a companion to chatter with.
"Fun." She plainly said before continuing, "when ya be alone for a while, ya miss the sound of laughter. There ain't no jokes when ya goin' on adventure alone, aye. Companionship, is a lover." Thinking about it, the maned wolf valued her treasure-seeking journeys, but now that she was alone doing it, it wasn't fun anymore. It was at first, but Norsamu never took the treasure with her. Every discovery was a fleeting love, it wasn't the item or scene that gave her energy, it was the journey to it.
"N' rum buddies!" Couldn't forget to drink her fine beverage as she gave a large laugh. She had put some at the bay before leaving, and was curious if it was still hidden in some rocks, or dried out due to the winter times.

It might have humored her to know that Ford and Velen were – in fact – the closest of all the Mayfair-Cairn children. Though they still differed from each other greatly, the titan did not find his patience tested in the company of his noble sibling. It might have been that Velen was the closest to all of the others, as well, as it seemed the chocolate brute was something of a level-headed creature. In many ways, the warhound envied his sibling's ability to blend so easily with his company. He had often thought that there was a similar capability in his own figure, but had taken time to realize that his own gifts were very different.
“We are all very different. It helps to balance our large litter... there are five of us, after all,” Ford offered her as an explanation, but managed to shrug his shoulders as though the reasons didn't matter entirely. They needed their differences in order to succeed, he felt. Without them, they would have all been fighting savagely for the same things in life.
The response to his question was one that he hadn't entirely expected. The woman sought fun in her prospective homes. Even that was a return that he would have expected from someone that Rannveig had scooped up. It didn't matter much that Velen had been the sibling to recruit this stranger, only that the expectations were set for her before she was allowed to make a space in the bay. Ford nodded his head to her explanation with a somber expression, seemingly understanding what she meant.
“Very well then. Norsamu, you are welcome to a life of fun and companionship. I would imagine that you would find my other brother – Rannveig – to be the kind of company you like to keep. My only request is this; you must give back to the pack,” the titan spoke in a level tone, gruff against the back of his throat like the rumbling of thunder. “We aim to overcome any weakness within ourselves, and to inspire those around us to do the very same. Stormrift is a pack that is meant to grow and to thrive without failure. I should hope you would want the same things?”

"Tis a large litter." She didn't know of how large family trees truly could be, as Norsamu herself was only an orphan. She was picked up by a few rogues out of boredom, and that was the closest she could get to a 'family,' and truly counted them as such. None of them were related, however, and all came together due to similar pasts of hardships and betrayels. She grew up with their stories, and their odd... 'Parenting,' of throwing her off of ledges, and into piles of angry birds, there was more but hey, she grew up fine, probably. So the fact someone had five siblings alone was impressive to her.
"I can give ya some rum recipes if that counts?" Norsamu cackled loudly and joked with the brute, "a delicious beverage for the seaside." She could see that the one before her wasn't really a 'Pirate,' to say, and may not enjoy such alcoholic drink, but its 'giving back to the pack.' She knew the meaning behind what he said, probably. Though offering some insight to new food and drinks was always a pleasant discussion, and she was more then happy to have a drunken conversation with another giant.
"Aye lad, sounds like a ride." Quite serious, but sounds somewhat cool. She can do that, probably. Though real question is, what weakness's does she have for herself... Norsamu is relucant to name any. There was a lot of 'probablies' for today. She always tended to wing things.

you can wrap up with ur next post! i'd love another one. <3
The peculiar pirate offered to exchange recipes for rum. Now, Ford had never tried the beverage that she referenced, and so he wasn’t entirely familiar with what that would include. In spite of that, he nodded his head once or twice and offered a curling smile. For what it was worth, he was a willing specimen and he had found that he was capable of enduring a great deal before he reached his breaking point. He was certain that the rum she’d talked about wouldn’t have been harmful to him. If she spoke so fondly of it, there had to have been a reason for that. To understand those that he had brought into the rift was important, and so he made himself inclined to accept.
“Welcome to Stormrift, then,” the warhound offered her and stepped aside so that she was allowed to pass into the bay and into her new fold. “You are welcome to take the time that you need in getting to know your fellow packmates. After we have settled in, I will arrange our first meeting so that everyone can learn the culture.” It would take him time to prepare them, and he wanted to ensure that they were comfortable in their home before he called upon them to challenge themselves. It was to be expected of everyone of them, but he knew the nature of creatures who were pushed too hard.
“I’m available if you should need me. I’d like to try that… rum of yours sometime,” Ford then offered to her with a hollow stare and a small curling of his lip. Then, he motioned for her to step into the bay and turned so that she could make a space for herself in their midst.

id love another one tooo!
"Thank ya." She achieved the acceptance, and managed to get in ranks with the Stormrift gang. Her old pals, were one of loud and rough words, without an ounce of nobility like Ford before her, or delicacy. She has met others, and realized of the differents ways people spoke and acted, but never did she stuck around, to truly call them a 'crew' of her own. So she was excited, to gain companions once more to joke and laugh about, but she held a deep doubt, that refused to come to thought; if they don't meet what she desires, what will she do?
Well if anything, just give em' some rum and party for the nights. Sounds good, aye? "Sounds interestin' lad, got ya own culture? Good for ya." She knew of cultures, but didn't parcitipate in any. Her mind joked of neptune and poseidon, and the gods of the air, but really only slang she picked up. Norsamu didn't rely on any godly beings, nor' prayed to the heavens or had any traditions. She only knew some, for they helped the lore behind the rumors. What was being a mermaids tear, one says? They cry from a sailors heartbreak, and the harpies feathers drop as they feast on the heartbroken. Culture and rumors in her mind, were intertwined, but never experienced. Hoped it wasn't something lame as hell.
"Hell yeah laddy, tis' the good stuff. When ya fruit be here, we can feast!" Her last words outside of the territory, before officially stepping forward, and becoming one of the Stormrifts.

The diversity of Stormrift would likely have appealed to Norsamu, once she’d gotten to know the others. There weren’t many who were like Ford in the group; most of them were pleasant and cheery folk. Velen was – perhaps – the closest to the titan in demeanor, and still the mahogany-eyed brother was far more capable of appearing at ease around strangers than the warhound had ever been. Once, it had bothered Ford that he was so different from his siblings. As they had aged, he had noticed that their differences were what made them dynamic as a group. Even Rannveig offered a charisma and lackadaisical charm that was difficult to pass up, in spite of his idiocy and laziness.
Norsamu stepped onto the territory of the bay and was offered a small nod by the brutish skeletal beast. She made a comment on the nature of their culture. Ford latched his mismatched gaze on her features to read what she might have been thinking. There were those who were not quick to adapt a new lifestyle when joining a pack, but Stormrift was about shedding the skin of previous lives and moving forward with improvements. She would learn that soon enough, he imagined. “We do, in order to achieve the growth of our members. You will learn of our ways soon enough. I don’t imagine they would be too difficult for one with such spirit,” he remarked to her with a half-smirk and a sideways glance.
It was then that she mentioned that all she’d need for her rum was fruit. Ford turned his attention toward the trees and frowned thoughtfully. In all of the stories that his father had shared of the bay, there had never been talk of fresh fruit, or any vegetation really. All that Skellige had spoken of was the ocean and the Blackrock that lured him to the bottom of it. Still, the titan imagined that they would find themselves with a great deal of fruit once spring and summer arrived. “In time, we should have plenty of that,” he assured her.
