hunting thread! (includes sad eating), AW
Whatever happened, Evermore for sure thought she was cursed. Everytime she spoent her energy looking for a home, a new family, it all came crashing down. Down on her luck for sure, she wondered if she had wronged the world to create such a poor situation. Traveling wise, she went far and away from what she knew, for there were ne benefits for her when she had no family to call her own. Loneliness bit at her bones rather feverishly. She could only push forward, however, and hope that fate would end up giving her something worth while.
As she stumbled upon the lake, the sounds of quacks from the inhabitants caused her ears to perk up. She hadn't eaten in quite some time now, perhaos something in her stomach would ease her pain. Quietly, she made her way closer to the body of water and watched the ducks land in the water, as well as dive underneath its surface. It would be a cold plunge, but if she could snag one of the feathered animals, it would be plenty for her.

Loneliness ebbed and flowed in Loinn - but then she had always needed her solitude every now and then. Still, it had been a long time since she’d spent anything more than fleeting time with someone. She could barely remember the last time she’d conversed more than offering a terse grunt to a passerby.
She’d spied the lake from a distance, but not the other wolf. Her head was held low, ears back, until the quacks of the waterfowl reached her. Her head lifted, ears straining forward. While Loinn had eaten recently, as a lone wolf she was reluctant to turn down the chance of a good meal. Unknowing of the terrain ahead, the silvery female at least knew that she needed to maintain her energy.
Her paws picked up into a gentle trot… and then she caught the scent. Another wolf, female, alone. A flicker of interest made its way across her features as she turned away from the lakeside, sniffing. Sure to maintain a neutral posture despite the confidence in her movements, she let out a soft huff in greeting.
Her muzzle jerked toward the dipping and flapping ducks. “Worth the chill?” Loinn wondered aloud.

How would she even go about this situation. While Evermore could certainly swim just fine, she wasn't sure a cold plunge suited her this very moment. Yet the growling in her stomach solidified the idea to her that this hunt was necessary; perhaps not just to feed her hunger, but to feed her confidence in herself, in the world. She needed to feel like she could do something right without letting it all fall apart. Her thoughts became silenced as she felt her ears flick towards the back of her head.
Evermore looked over her shoulder and saw the other approach. An interesting color, and sounded feminine. As for her question, Evermore only nodded. "Sometimes you gotta do what'chu gotta do," she said plainly, "if you want to eat too, we should work together or else one of us will scare them all off."
"I'm Evermore, if that interests you."
She didn't consider herself to be much of a hunter, but it was what kept fresh blood pumping through her body, and provided the energy she needed to live. Hunting is what provided for others and for themselves, if a wolf could not hunt, were they even a wolf?
