It was difficult to find safe places to serve as refuge in this place, rocky outcroppings surrounding her. Each footfall was plagued by hazard and she moved carefully, cautious as to where she placed each paw, until the mouth of a cave came into view and she breathed a sigh of relief.
It was dark, yet dry enough to be comfortable. She slipped inside the entrance, nose twitching as she sifted through the earthy smells to see if there were any other breathing creatures within the depths of the cave. Old scents were all she could find, muddied by the scent of damp rock.
Honeysuckle sought out the driest patch of cave floor she could find then lowered herself onto the rock, curling up with the tip of her tail resting on her dark, wet nose. It was still light outside, the sun at its highest, but she was tired and the cave was dark enough aside from the gaping entrance that she slowly was able to drift off into sleep.

Mind if I sliiiiide in?
One step for man, one giant leap for mankind
Merrily could the woman of the night be seen trotting along the rocky terrain, small paws calculatively landing on each strip of clayish ground with grace. It was a good thing that Luna had grown up in the mountains to begin with (or else she would've fell to her death a long time ago) and her swift & stealthy gait had been accustomed to the terrain for some time as a result. Regardless of that fact, however, heat resistance was still not Lunaria's strong suit at all. Hours of constant movement in the sun was nothing less of torturous — there had to be some shade around here, right?
Lunaria's search was short; the opening of what looked like a cave was just up ahead — score! What a suprisingly convenient day it was to find some food, water, and now shelter all combined in the same area. Who knew, mabey these mountains could serve as a resting spot for a while until Luna grew bored and decided to leave. And humming happily to herself with that plan in mind, Lunaria's pace quickened to make her way towards the cave. Though with days such as these, where everything was going too well, there had to be something eventful to even things out.
Luna's turquoise orbs had set their sights on something, or rather, someone else inhabiting these cavernous walls. But with the murky darkness that consumed the cave, it was hard to makeout who it was — so with Lunaria being the "Curious George" she was, her body slunk quietly towards the sleeping ball of fur in order to investigate.

In her light slumber she felt the eerie sense that there was someone watching her. One eye opened to peer into the darkness, barely able to see the obsidian pelt that approached her among the shadows. Her other eye opened and she raised her head, paws shifting to push her up into a sitting position.
"Oh!" she exclaimed, noticing that it was a wolf who slunk towards her. There was a pang of fear in her heart -- she did not know this canine's intentions, and she was bathed in shadows so it was difficult to read her face. "H-hello," she stammered, jolting into a standing position and backing up towards one of the damp walls. Chocolate eyes watched with both curiosity and terror, wondering if perhaps she had stumbled into someone's home and fallen asleep in their bed.

Well...this was akward. Just as Luna had been slinking towards the warm-toned wolf they'd decided to wake up and notice her. And deservingly so, the dark femme was being stared at with fearful, dark brown eyes. Great job Lunaria, now you're making yourself look like a damned stalker.
"Ah...hello..." she greeted back rather meekly, flicking an ear to the side and looking to the cave walls to avoid uncomfortable eye contact. "Don't worry, I wasn't going to snuff you or anything. Just curious..."
