@Njal and @Tuwawi IC Joining thread :)

Her friends and parents dead, her brother gone, she had nothing now. Until now, she had always had a purpose, something to strive for, something that she had to achieve, something that made her who she was, something that gave her the will to go on. Strangely though, even though she had no family or friends left, nothing to strive for and no purpose in her life, she still had the will to live. Maybe it was just family genes, besides she didn't feel like giving up yet. Giving up itself should go to the deepest parts of hell. But the thing was, she didn't know what to do next, when her brother was with her, her main goal was to keep them healthy and well fed and alive but now that he was gone, her purpose seemed to have evaporated into the air. It was easy for her to survive, an excellent hunter and fighter and she knew when to escape but there was a strange yearning in her gut. She wished for the company of wolves again, she wanted the life of a pack again even if she had to do it without her brother by her side. A small pang of pain went through her heart but she ignored it instead began her trek upwards, seeking the North.

The warrior of the north and the sea traveled far away, searching for the scent of a pack, a small smile appeared on her lips as bright blue eyes noticed large icy mountains in the distance, piercing through the clouds into the sky. And although she missed and loved the sea, the mountains would have to do, after all it was one of the places she called home and who knows how far she would have to go to find the churning waves of the sea?

Although her paws ached, determination drove her forward, just as it always did. The border was soon found and she quickly backed away until she was a respectful distance away from the scent line. Finally she sank down gracefully onto her haunches, tilted her head back and let out a smooth clear howl. It was strong and clear, pride keeping the tiredness out of her voice. Here was the chance for a new beginning, but she felt as if it was more of an ending. But she knew, her brother had his own life and she, her own but it was hard to let them go.

However none of her internal turmoil showed through her exterior, outside her expression was calm and clear blue eyes scanning the area for any wolf.

The scent of feline musk lingered in the air as Tuwawi performed an agitated patrol around Duskfire's new borders. However, her reconnaissance was cut short when an enigmatic howl rang in the air. At once, Tuwawi moved into a brisk gallop, weaving through the trees and glens as if she had lived there for many years. Even though this wood was still foreign, it already felt like home.

A white figure perched herself politely at the borders where the trees thinned. Bazi?! Tuwawi thought, surprised that the young leader would travel the whole way here. What for? Was there news? However, upon second glance, the plush alabaster fur and sky blue eyes belonged to another woman - though the likeness was uncanny. The ember felt her heart sink a little, but slowed to a trot all the same, intent to meet the visitor. Her posture was held high with a stiff tail in the air - an unmistakable expression of ownership and dominance. She observed the stranger, evaluating her methodically from a length away. "You sit at Duskfire's borders," she stated dutifully in her usually low, crooning voice, "what business do you have with us?"

While she was waiting, her mind drifted towards her home and those that she had left behind again and although she tried to shake the painful memories away, they appeared bright and blinding in her mind. She only managed to keep her expression calm and thoughtful, a skill that was extremely useful when you felt like doubling over and breaking down. To cry and to wither, to leave the world and be with her loved ones again. Although pride would stop her from ever admitting it, she missed her parents and her brother and her old pack so damn much. She felt like fate was laughing at her, giving her all she wanted then pulling them away.

A scent pulled her out of her memories and into the present where a fiery female appeared, her tail high in the air, her posture dominant. She lowered her head unwillingly, flattened her ears slightly as a show of submission. Pride stopped her from submitting too much but at least to her, it was acceptable. Truly, she was doing her best not to act dominant and snarky like she did when she was in a mood like today.

The female spoke and she sighed silently, sky blue gaze carrying a dark sadness as she replied in a soft clear voice. "Greetings," she began, "I am Azar and I seek to join your pack." she assumed that this female was the Alphess by her dominant stance and her words. If only her brother was here now, he had always been the glow in her life after their parents had died, given her hope and confidence but now, with him gone, she was just an empty shell, looking for a new start.

The Duskfire alpha looked on as the pallid woman submitted with a respectful gesture. Her snowy crown tipped as her pointed ears folded to half-mist at either side. Tuwawi drew nearer, only a foot or two away, to add pressure and test this vagrant's willpower. "Azar," she parroted, comitting the name to memory, "I am Tuwawi... leader of this land besides my mate, Njal. We have planted roots here to start a new life and protect our family. Every member of this pack is committed to that cause," she told the recruit. "What skills do you poses, if any? Life near the mountains can be difficult, especially for one who had no desire to adapt or learn."

Silver eyes traced Azar's fair visage as the ember stepped away to give her company room to speak and explain. The loner appeared to be strong of mind and body thus far, though that would not prevent the precautious mother from grilling her, all the same.

Bright blue gaze lifted just briefly to look at the leader but not into her eyes before immediately lowering to the ground. "What skills do you possess, if any? Life near the mountains can be difficult, especially for one who had no desire to adapt or learn." The white warrior nearly laughed at that. "I came from the mountains and the sea and have lived there for a long time before leaving." she said respectfully and softly. The mountains was her home and always would be, life by the mountains might be difficult for other wolves but to her, it had been hard in the beginning but now it was easy.

"I am a good warrior, hunter and diplomat. I am also a good tactician and can form good strategies in my mind. I am also extremely loyal and will die to protect your family if it comes to that." she said softly but clearly. Determined to find a place in the ranks of this pack for it might be a start of a new beginning and right now, a new beginning was what she needed. Working, protecting the pack might help her get her mind off the more depressing part of her life.

The welsh warrior did not look up instead silently waited for the leader's reply wondering if she had anything else to ask her. She knew that she would protect the two Alphas family with her life if that was what they wanted of her when she joined. For she hadn't lied, she was loyal but trust was another thing.

Upon Tuwawi's fiery visage sat discerning quicksilver eyes which cooly evaluated Azar's expression. So this woman came from mountains by the sea... Memories of briny air, seafoam, and reeling gulls suddenly resurfaced like smatterings of vivid paint - but never would the Sveijarn deign to live there for even a day. It reminded her far too much of the Kesuks and their god-bears; plus, the taste or saltwater and texture of sand held little appeal to the earthen woman.

However, Azar's heritage held little pull regarding her pledge, for her words felt confident and true. Tuwawi couldn't help but smirk as the alabaster wolf uttered, die to protect your family. She had guts and Tuwawi was smitten by her words, but when it came down to the wire would she stick around? "Your pack mates will be the judge of your claims," Tuwawi said, bemused, "I welcome you to Duskfire, Azar." The alpha stepped forward and reached out to brush her snout against the new companion's pallid maw, breaching the gap between strangers to craft new familial bonds.
