All Welcome
for @Lyric Redhawk, finally!
Kindle was not participating in the hunts. It had been decided that not all their hunters should participate in so dangerous an endeavor, and Kindle had reluctantly bowed out. It gave him time to watch over their packlands, but it also left him at odd ends when he was in the Glen.

So he decided to dance. He spread the word this way and that, announcing his intention to reach a traditional dance from his homelands — one that depicted the months after the elk rut, when some of the more tired and aged bulls began to wane after the stress of the rut.

He stood now in the appointed meeting place, stretching his mottled legs in preparation. He did not expect many to come, in truth. But he was eager to dance all the same.

The hunt hadn't been everything he hoped for, meaning he hadn't found too many willing to listen to his stories as he hoped. However, speak of a dance was exciting.

Lyric didn't quite understand what it was, but he wouldn't find out unless he went.

Making his way to the meeting place, he couldn't help feeling shy when he realized that it would just be him and a Dawnspear wolf, from how it looked. This wasn't his family or a pack member.

There were no more takers, though some looked on in idle interest. That was fine — they were probably tired from the hunt. This boy, however, was sure to be spritely and full of spirit.

"Be welcome," he said to the child, his tail whisking in affable greeting. He was normally more reserved, but he emulated Katmai just a little to try and put the child at ease. "My name is Kindle, of Dawnspear. What's yours?"

He hope to make a lifelong friend in this boy. With a larger class he might have been less invested, but if he was going to dance with this child alone today, he figured they ought to get to know each other — although, maybe after the lesson was done, and Kindle saw what he could do.

But dance was important to him. If he was going to share his culture with Lyric, he hoped it could be meaningful.
