"Everyone will follow the laws," Saena assured Lacinia. The idea that any wolf was less prone to following laws than another based on their sex was ridiculous to Saena, who had lived with misogyny long enough to believe it was a primative and disgusting concept. Sexism against men was just as bad. "Males aren't the only jackasses. I'm not sure where you came from, but around here, not many wolves take advantage, and those who do are not solely men."

Lacinia should know this—she was one such woman who took advantage of others' weaknesses and vulnerability, not that Saena actually realized that.

"They will follow the law or they will leave," she said with finality, moving into a lope. She wanted to make it back to the ridge in good time, and trusted Lacinia would keep up. Once there, she would introduce the members of the pack, and reinforce the idea that men were not the only evil in the world, before leaving to rest by herself for a while.
