Maybe he should take him for a drink of water. But before he could react, Nightjar farted and then collapsed in a fit of giggles, earning a fond smirk from his father.

"Goofball," he murmured, moving next to his son and patting him with a broad black paw. "We should get some water—and food, for that matter—in you. C'mon, let's head back." He swiped his snout in the direction of the den, then waited for Nightjar to stand up and bound ahead of him before the Alpha brought up the rear.
