No one raised any complaints about the new expectations, despite the fact that several of them likely never would have considered pursuing these trades if not required. Their loyalty and adaptability made Peregrine proud, not that he had any right to feel that way any longer. There weren't overly many wolves calling the caldera home these days but they were certainly rocking quality over quantity.

Fox invited the pack to ask questions and converse among themselves. He managed a playful wink for them, then slowly rose. He moved to the outskirts of the gathering, gliding past the Beta pair with a murmured, "Hey," before eventually receding like a shadow.
