Swift rrrr'ed a bit more, and stuck a paw up to shove against the muzzle that came near to sniff him and touch his feet. This was not what he wanted, and he squeaked. The blob moved away for a moment, the little Frostfur turned and tried to beat back to where he wanted to be, but his mother used her paw to turn him back in the direction of their guest. He sighed. His personality was definitely evident, but unfortunately for those around him, Swift was looking like a curmudgeon.

Suddenly, something touched his paw, which he lifted from the den floor as his nose instinctively bent to sniff it. But balancing on only three paws for one as clumsy as he proved troublesome, and he fell on his side with another squeak. He then rrrrr'ed louder than before, and attacked the squirrel tail as though it had pushed him over. He grasped in his mouth and shook his head.
