She chased him with all of the speed she could. Despite Mason’s short legs, he was much more speedy than his sister. With big brotherly care, he ensured that he was not too far ahead. She was running after him, her face split by a sunny grin. Mason’s heart swelled with happiness. He loved seeing his little sister happy.

His pause at the tree was his downfall. She was closer on his heels than he had thought. Mason felt a paw swipe him on the rump as he was about to set off again. He caught his movement, managed to pirouette, and yipped with glee.

“Ya got me!” He shouted with enthusiastic excitement, glad she had achieved a clear win without him having to let her (as he often did) “Now ammit!” I’m it! She knew the rules. Mason bounced on his paws, giving her chance to process this, turn and run away.
