"I simply didn't grow up like this. I always had to take care of myself. So I kind of learned that nothing in life comes for free. But thanks.", Ayana explained. She couldn't wait to go hunting and freshen up her skills. She knew her words didn't really make sense, but she didn't care. They don't have to know everything about her, right? Or do they, now that they're her pack. Was that something like those "families" where everyone told everything to each other? Ayana always wondered whether those feelings were fake or reality. How could someone be interested in everything the other one had to tell? The light wolf genuinely didn't care how anyone slept or if they had bad dreams.

"You need to tell me when you'll go hunting. I'll be there, Burke", Ayana said while looking in his eyes. They were so deep and blue like the lake. She had to giggle while thinking that.

The two wolves had a quick snack and then walked around the territory for a while. Ayana stopped. She heard a heartbeat. A deer? She turned to Burke. "Do you hear that?"
Her mouth started to water and she felt her paws scratching the earth underneath her claws. She clenched her eyes to see a little better.
She was waiting for a signal of the black leader. His presence still made her nervous, he was so ... strong and made her look and feel tiny.
