Elwood invited him inside with nary a hesitation and Peregrine slipped in after him. He bobbed his head at the sleepy Finley, then shifted his eyes to the little gray babe at her breast. He wanted to reach out and snuggle with the little pup, maybe even reminisce about the days when the Firebirds had been so small. But he didn't want to disturb mother or baby.
