As soon as Ashton described where he could find the spinach and oranges, Elwood gave a curt nod and took off. He trusted Peregrine in the medic's hands while he was gone, and he planned to make it a speedy trip, anyway. By the time Peregrine began to wail about his vision, Elwood was long gone, making headway towards the rendezvous site.

Luckily, he was able to find each plot of land quickly. Ashton's explicit instructions -- down to the last step! -- were surely the reason. Elwood gathered a mouthful of spinach, and then plucked one fat orange from the tree; he wouldn't be able to hold any more than that. He then raced back towards the borders.
