June appeared to have lost some of the context of the game. Regardless, Mason adapted accordingly. Being only two of the litter, they spent so much time together it was easy for him to read her like an open book. 

Mason allowed her to come up on him from behind and – when she jumped on him – he allowed himself to slump to the floor as though she had been a dead-weight, not a feather. He giggled and rolled underneath her from side to side, attempting to dislodge her whilst trying to reach up and get a grip on some of her fur.
