Hoshor Plains cool for the summer

Today marked six weeks since the pups' dramatic birthday. To mark it, Reggie wriggled forth from the family's burrow and went wandering, though she didn't stray far. She was bold and fearless, yet she wasn't stupid. She unknowingly took after her father by doing her best to conceal herself at every step. The long, dry grasses of the plains were good for it. The young coyote was nearly invisible as she wove through the brittle golden shoots.

She came to a small clearing and found a bone discarded by her mother. Regipre dropped her snout and sniffed at it while keeping her eyes ahead. She began to mouth it; it felt good against her small teeth. Eventually, she grasped the knobby end and dragged it back into the high grass to chew on it in peace, her faded eyes peeking blandly from the swaying stalks.
