He felt a mixture of excitement and dread. His heart was lodged firmly in his throat, and he could scarcely hear Wildfire's words over the thundering of blood in his ears. He was eager to see Finley, but at the same time he was fearful. What condition would she be in when they found her? He barely registered the fact that Wildfire had been here only a week ago; he nodded absently, stepping briskly over the rocky terrain with yellow eyes roving wildly over the landscape.
