He might have been a hypocrite, yet Peregrine and his wolves were established residents of the area. This was their advantage, their right, one he intended to exercise fully. And with that said, he had literally just decided to shift his pack's range further away from that godforsaken forest full of squatters and here she was, all up in his business anyway. It made his blood boil.

The fact that she stood her ground on his ground (never mind that it hadn't been his until an hour ago) made him see red, even in his blind eye. Although Peregrine managed to clasp her muzzle again, she yanked free and thrust upward. Her snout grazed his cheek and a second later, her teeth pierced his ear on his blind side. He snarled wrathfully and kicked out a foreleg in an attempt to shove her away.

He didn't even know her name but he knew he wanted her dead. Ignoring the stinging pain in his torn ear, he backed up a few faces and then charged her like a bull. Peregrine wanted to get her off her feet, at which point he would slash her neck, executioner style.
