 Winter was coming and it was coming fast. As much as Mikasi enjoyed being alone, he needed a pack. He wouldn't survive out here alone. There needed to be some wolves that he could trust. He could serve someone and in return get some protection. Don't get it twisted: he was able to protect himself, but he'd rather be sure he wouldn't die in winter's cold grasp.

 As he walked through the Teekon, he thought of his dear sister. Would she survive without her big brother? Maybe he shouldn't have left her side. For a second, he felt guilty for leaving her without a word. What did she do when he wasn't there when she woke up? She would never trust him again.

 Mikasi shook those thoughts out of his mind when a familiar smell rose in the air. Pack borders. He was a little ways away, so he didn't want to move on further. He stood there for a moment before letting the traditional wolf song drift through the air, asking for the presence of the leader.
