He said nothing, though his lips twitched upward at the corners when she told him he'd planted a seed of excitement. He would feel bad if Hawkeye was opposed to promoting her after all, though he didn't see why his mate wouldn't at least consider the woman, once they knew each other a bit better.

"Well, work on getting to know my wife and we'll see what happens," Peregrine replied. "She's this pack's founder and I leave the big decisions in her hands. I will put in a good word for you, though." He winked.
