Silvertip Mountain Don't look now

Chaska listened intently to her. She spoke of her brother highly. He would certainly be most proud of her. It made him wonder why anyone, let alone a relative, would kill such a boy. Really, it shocked him most of all. Was it pure jealousy, or something else? That was something he would not ask, fearing that the topic crossed the line.

A cold wind blew through, chilling his skin and blowing through his fur. He shook a little from the breeze. Funny how the cold water did not make him shiver, but the air does. He moved his paws up a bit, scooting back as well. After, he spoke in reply. "He sounds like he was a good kid. And a good brother also." He smirked a little. "But don't you see? You have no reason to be disappointed with yourself. You cared for me after I took a tumble. No matter how much I may have annoyed you, or been a burden to you." From what she had told him about how he acted, he guessed he was a burden of some sort. She was a good wolf in her own way.

He paused, hesitant on what to say next. He soon made up his mind and then went on. He stood his forelegs up, stretching them a bit and yawned. It was very late. "It is getting late. I may go back soon."
