Mason’s eyes lit up at the thought that popped into his head – maybe they could spy?! He knew it was a bit of a naughty thought, but he also knew espionage was sometimes a part of scouting. Considering his clumsiness and lack of current knowledge of the areas, he doubted he could really do much spying. But hey, it was a cool thought.
“So should we try and head around the perimeter to see if we can spot anyone? If Dad’s not heard from them in so long, maybe they don’t like strangers. I don’t wanna be attacked.” Mason ended fervently, remembering the cougar incident and having no desire to get caught up in anything like that again. The boy stopped his paddling to wait for the older male’s advice.
