It didn't really matter where they went from here. He knew that - she likely agreed with the sentiment, so Tryphon did not feel like asking - but the problem persisted: where to next? The many scents in the mountains had become so overwhelming that the boy no longer felt safe as a lone wolf (even if he wasn't truly alone). With his injury healing, they would both be able to travel farther afield. 

The pair moved together in synchronicity; from time to time, Tryphon would lag behind her or rest or slow the pace, but generally speaking they were on par with one another. He did not wish to be separated from her. Thus far, this ridge that they had found themselves stranded upon was the only place not rank with the scent of pack wolves. Theirs were the only heavy scents upon the stones here. Desiring rest for the time being, Tryphon slunk back, forcing her to slow her pace, and then stopped abruptly near the edge of the ridge. He could see down in to the dark which extended in to the plains, but there was little detail.

Perhaps it was time to leave this mountain.
