@Sage :)
The night fell early in the winter, and all wolves in Phantom Hollow were slumbering. All except for the queen. She was wide awake, laying next to her beloved king. Her yellow eyes scanned their den, eyeing for the opening in the dark. She needed a walk, otherwise she would be awake all night. She maneuvered her way past the massive body of her lover, being careful not to wake him. It was tricky, one paw almost stepping on his tail, but somehow she managed to get to the den opening. She sighed in relief as the tenseness of her body vanished. Nailed it.
She looked outside, eyeing for the stars she had been told about as a pup as well as her whole life. It was Avalon who had taught her almost everything, though she still had a lot to learn. The tree tops were blocking her vision however, and she grunted softly. She loved watching the lights in the sky when she couldn't sleep, though mother nature had other plans apparently. Oh well, perhaps just outside of the forest she could see the lights she so utterly adored. She padded toward their border, passing every den in the process, leaving her scent right at everyone's doorstep. This was not intentionally however, it was simply the quickest way to their border.
Finally, she reached a spot just outside their borders on the west side of their pack. The view she had now was absolutely mesmerizing. To her right she saw the mountains, lit by the moon, in their full glory. It was a clear night tonight, indicating that it would be colder tomorrow probably. Couldn't winter be over already? Oh well, can't argue with mother nature on that one. She sat down in the grass, her muzzle pointed at the sky. To the North, she could see the bright star called the North Star. Her eyes made her way past Draco, to the Ursa Minor. These were the only stars she could locate this evening, but she knew of more. Avalon and her always sneaked out to locate them, though he was better at it. She always confused certain stars for other ones, while he had it mapped inside his mind. She had been so jealous of him.
Those were really the good times... Now, she needed someone else to talk about the stars that intrigued her so much.
