She stood stiff a moment under his gaze before she answered him. "I didn't how it would end," she answered honestly. "I didn't think they'd give in so easily. I mean, if it'd ended and I was still in charge of the plan you placed under my control- I'd never get anywhere. If I was gonna make friends with any of them and especially persuade them to our ranks... well there's no way they'd come if I'd attacked," she offered him, hoping he'd at least see where she had come from.
