in a fluid trot tachyon broke from the cover of the copse, his strides lengthening as he caught sight and scent of the duo. without a word his trot escalated into a canter and his powerful strides swiftly devoured the landscape between them. his gaze trailed over osprey, who was inert on the ground. his expression was quizzical as he came upon her, for the two before him both seemed wounded in their own way. the speckled wolf was given a once over, as if tachyon were silently assessing him for any weakness. despite his usual lax behavior there was something about osprey that caused him to feel emboldened and assertive -- without realizing it he felt his tail rise and his posture heighten as he advanced towards the wolf he felt was far too close to his packmate.
