Osprey would never know of the sacrifice her sister made for her that day, acting as an unwitting body shield and taking the brunt of Pura's golden shower. All she did know was that Ty suddenly smashed against her, forcing them both to stumble backward. Little Junior barely had time to right herself before Ty was whisked suddenly away, leaving the blacker pup disoriented and alone.
Her mouth opened to wail at this confusing turn of events when a warm set of jaws closed around her midriff, hoisting her into the air and causing nothing but a loud grunt to loose from her lips. In no time, she was back beside Ty, who was incredibly damp and musky. Nonetheless, Osprey whimpered and gummed her sister, happy to be back where she belonged: in the slot beside her.
For a few moments, they drank side-by-side like two young girls at a soda fountain, their little paws flailing and thin tendrils of milk trickling onto her chests. Then Tytonidae eventually unlatched and, as if taking an unseen, unheard cue, Osprey Jr. did the same. She sank to the floor, rolled slowly onto her back and became nothing more than a puddle of sleepy puppy mush.
