The one thing that she hoped would never happen was happening. She would have to fight her friend for a spot in Redhawk Caldera. Although Mazi deep down knew that it this wrong in some ways, she found that she surprisingly and suddenly didn’t care. So long as she had a place here. This new feeling was strange as it was foreign. Yet, she swore to herself at that moment that she would fight long and hard for her spot. No matter what it took, or if it included any bloodshed. She did not want to leave the Caldera. She needed to prove herself to Peregrine and this uneventful event happened to be the only way.
“I accept. I will fight Nadie, and prove to you that I am worthy of staying here. I promise.” The agouti female swore, then continued on with another matter. “And in answer to your question, I don’t know where Nadie is at the moment. I have not seen her today.” Mazi informed Peregrine. She felt a little more confidence building up in her. Maybe she would get a second chance.
