All the fight had gone out of Rivet. She agreed to look for some carrion, her acquiescence sending a bolt of irritated fury through Turquoise. There was just no pleasing the Blackthorn tonight. Her lip lifted and she snorted, quietly wishing that Rivet would quit moping around and go fetch some food. Turq had tried, at least, and failed. Wasn't it Rivet's turn now?

Instead of giving voice to these sulky inner questions, Turquoise began to walk alongside the creek. "Well, c'mon," she said gruffly to her partner. Her stomach snarled loudly and she winced angrily, disliking the sensation of hunger gnawing at her innards. It made her temper all the shorter and harder to control. If only she got something to eat, then she might be able to lay off Rivet...
