"No one's watching, it's okay," she purred, and Elwood nodded dumbly, leaning forward to kiss her again. But he stopped himself suddenly and drew back again. "Wait, what?" he asked, realizing that he hadn't been successful in making his point clear after all.

"No, Fin," he said, exasperation creeping into his voice. Finally, he just came out and said it. "You're in heat. Are you ready to make babies? Now?" He sure hoped so -- and was pretty sure there was no chance she would turn him down, even faced with the reality of the situation -- but she could always pull a Finley and do something completely unexpected.
