the ghosted memory of his blood on her tongue, of his cheek-meat between her teeth, made her lick her lips. whether it was due to the story and her frayed nerves or her great hunger, she could not tell. perhaps in time they would all succumb to the madness of demons — at least she had her lord to keep her safe.
