She answered readily enough, albeit in a prickly tone. Peregrine couldn't (and didn't) hold that against her. His tongue darted out to wet his lips, wondering if she was a resident loner or part of a pack. He didn't really care about those particulars. He only wanted to know one thing:
"Is this area in better shape? I mean, I can see that the locusts were here too. But is there any growth at all? Any prey?"
