Although she didn't know it, Shreya was acting slightly more like her old teenage self than the woman she was today. As a teenager she'd been sulky, sardonic, yet pointedly amused — exactly how she was at the moment. Her paw throbbed like hell, and felt about twice as hot, and subsequently the bite marks there began to bleed again. Being trapped in the root had at least numbed her paw slightly. So freedom hurt, but, luckily, her random saviour was here to help. He immediately applied a cooling poultice on her wound as she held up her paw obediently.
