Out of nowhere, the mocking smirk upon the males' face disappeared into a lip curled snarl. Whelp? Devin was no whelp. It didn't matter if this guy was her father, she didn't take being called a whelp. His gaze was harsh. This was her father, but clearly wasn't. She didn't like it at all. But maybe if she just went with it, she could understand a bit better why her Arturo had gone whacko crazy. She let her worried gaze trickle away, and bowed her head in apology. She was a convincing actress, and looked actually sorry. With a 'flustered' giggle she looked back up into the fiery eyes of her father.
I'm sorry. You just look a lot like my father. Do you have a name?If her dad wasn't responding to being called dad, she had to know what he called himself now. All of this honestly frightened the child, but she managed to hide it well enough. What had happened here?
