Ezekiel brought up the fact that the open position of Beta was now open with Krypton’s leaving. If she had given a time frame, he would have simply left it open and did the best he could on his own. But, with an open-ended absence, he wasn’t so sure he could do that. I know what leading with and without her means, and it was a lot easier with someone else helping me out. I’m just not sure yet who might take that spot.

If Steady was honest with himself, he would admit Ezekiel himself was really the next logical choice. He hadn’t been here nearly as long as Krypton, but he had longer than any of the others. While his friend seemed to have had his ups and downs when he first came here, Steady knew Ezekiel had been loyal, and didn’t doubt, at least not much, that he could do it. Who do you think would be good? He asked, wondering if Ezekiel would name himself.
