"Nico," he said with a small smile, "Nicolas is way too formal." Nico knew he had, technically, introduced himself as Nicolas but the moment the word left his tongue, he'd regretted it. Man, when had he started going around introducing himself as Nicolas? 

He shook those thoughts away and began marking the borders as well, tilting his head thoughtfully as she asked him a question. "I was a loner in need of a home, and well, Charley was nearby and he recruited me," he replied simply. "Ensnared me with his talk about the ranks, to be honest, sounds interesting."
