Hushed Willows i won't let you fall tonight

"Oh!" she blurted out just after his greeting, clearly surprised at his comment.  No one had ever told her that before.  She stared at him wide-eyed for a fleeting moment as her brain struggled to come up with a response of some kind.  Banner cleared her throat and blinked twice before ducking her head.  The silver-eyed Ghost had caught her off guard in a way she never expected.  "Um.. thank you," she finally said, her voice quiet but the pitch a tad higher than usual.

She stared at her paws, brow furrowed.  Banner was used to feeling awkward - it was a large part of who she was - but this didn't exactly feel awkward.  Surprising, yes, of course.  Her face relaxed and she looked back up to meet Ghost's silvery gaze.  He was always so cool and collected.  Of course, "always" only referred to the one other time they'd met.  But the lady Marauder felt emotionally pulled in several different directions even on a normal day and she marveled at how he kept everything under wraps.  But then, they didn't know each other very well.  The only other wolf she could say she knew better than herself was her brother Stark and their relationship was very different than anything she'd experience with anyone else.

Her head tilted to the side as her nose twitched.  "You smell different," she said, a question in her voice though one was not explicitly asked.  Banner recalled that he was a lone wolf, at least the last time they met.  Had he found a home?
