Eden's ears stood at attention. She was intrigued by the new conversation. "A famine?" She examined the male. He was sizeable; she could've assumed his leadership based on appearance alone. 
Perhaps the famine was the reason for his disposition. "How'd it work out? I don't mean to intrude..." She let herself trail off for fear of overstepping. She lowered her head and looked away; she didn't need an unnecessary conflict.
