Steady was an avid listener, and at first Ezekiel was worried that the alpha would keep prying. But he didn't, and instead offered a small thought. It was true, what the dark wolf said, if not for his history, he wouldn't be here in the present. He thought about it often, where he'd be if he had carried out the mission his mother had assigned him. Everything he'd done had led him here, and he was glad for at least that. He nodded, but didn't respond. While Steady's words were true, there were things the other still didn't know. Things that not even his friend could put an optimistic spin on.

Steady rose to his feet, Zeke looked to the sky. A bit of time had passed from when they'd first started the conversation. Time always seemed to slip through the cracks. Steady offered Zeke to join on his patrol, and the large grey male smiled. Right behind you. He stood, shaking his pelt and prancing to the border to get some resting energy out. A good patrol always eased his mind, and now he had a friend to do it with.
