She was unfettered and left alone much of the time and while this was nothing like before Rowan still felt the pang of solitude. Shrike didn't even hesitate to say that he was happy and this brought a true smile to her face. "Good." She said without hesitation. She could not fathom how depressed she might have been if her hand had not been forced in Donnelaith. 

"Had I never come here, I would be even more alone. I wouldn't have the children - even if they present some..unique challenges." She mused with a little smile. Her silver eyes flashed playfully, and while the intention wasn't easy she was still happy with the prospects.
