Coconut Grove little talks

She’d stumbled upon some strange fruit that grew from the tall, skinny trees that lined the coast. She was not a seafaring wolf; the ocean and its unique features were vastly unfamiliar to her.
 
The fruit was round in shape and brown with a bizarre, prickly exterior. It was too large for the petite yearling to pick up, so October transported it by nudging it along with her snout.
 
Eventually she settled in the sand with the peculiar object secured between her forelimbs. Gnawing absentmindedly on its tasteless surface, she stared out over the sloshing waves as a summer tempest rumbled in the distance.
