Noctisardor Bypass la vie en rose

Ocra lifted her head, water dripping from her muzzle and she lashed her tongue across her lips to clear her mouth. It filled her belly from the temporary ache of hunger, having been a day or two since her last meal, and she knew she couldn’t hunt in the current state she was in. Earlier that morning she might have been able to take a meal while compromising her shoulder but she wouldn’t have been a burden upon the wolves she’d taken up with. 

A bark distracted her from her thoughts and she turned to see another female. Her ears fell back against her head for a moment, pivoting to look for a means of escape—for fighting like this would not be in her favor—but nothing happened right away that would force a need to run off. She lifted her ears then, searching behind the other for other wolves that might be following along for the concern of others chasing them from their possibly temporary home.

The girl barked her greeting in return and waved her tail a few times to indicate sh meant no harm.
