The sudden motion of her mother frightened her, but more than that was the inherent feeling of rejection. Even a child as young as she understood the feeling in the present. Pria recoiled this time, pressing her head back on her shoulders and flattening her ears and curling her tail under, and she slowly backpedaled, back and back and back, until she was beside and slightly behind Kavos.
