Nico sucked in a sharp breath and closed his eyes for a moment, composing himself and suppressing the flood of emotions that threatened to drown him. But before the soldier could say anything, Shalon spoke up, her tone annoyed and immediately, he felt Sargent pushing at his mental barriers. No, he was definitely not okay. Nico lifted his head, eyes narrowed, green eyes lost in a pool of darkness, lips in a thin line, "experiment?" he repeated, his tone low and dangerous. Nico prowled forward, blocking her path, ears slowly flattening against his cranium. "What are you implying?" he growled lowly.
