With the call of Akantha punctuated by the crashing of the sea upon the rocks around her, Hemithea felt simultaneously energized and at peace — thrilled by the power around her, imbibed within her, but also chilled to the core by her own doubts. The girl had not left the grotto where she had been found by Akantha; she lurked there like a castaway, an outsider look in on a world she had tried to ignore. But now with the song filling her ears, Hemithea could not ignore the poignant moment as it fell upon her. She cast back her own head and joined the song - late, but perhaps it would not matter - and threw her lot in with her sisters.
